How do you figure that out? Because some feds in America have judging which is a joke.

Having never been to a BDPFA meet I cant atest to their judging but the standard of refing at both BWLA/GBPF and BPC meets is good. Not flawless of course but they dont constantly pass high squats and unlocked benches.

Dont judge pl on the SPF and IPA.

I have attended several old BWLA meets and competed in several BPC events. I'm not drawing any conclusions based on one video from one fed in America. I stand by my statement that powerlifting is intent on destroying itself.

I wouldn't agree with that, those who know anything about the sport can recognise the difference between a lift in fed A against one in Fed B. I think the problem for the public's perception is when they see a newspaper article declaring a world record or world champion when it's some tin pot organisation with a handful of member nations.

The deads were very impressive. That 750 was a peach and you can't cheat a deadlift.

This guy is super strong. It's not his fault that the fed he lifts in allows those squats.

It's just sad for powerlifting that those feds exist in the first place.

How is it destroying itself? The PL guys have managed to break from BWLA and form the GBPF and are still going strong. The WPC is hosting its first raw worlds which will be huge and this years WPC worlds are likely to be the biggest yet.

The constant b**ching and bickering in the US isnt helping but powerlifting is going well.

He choses to lift in this Federation. If the lifters didn't turn up to lift in competitions like this then the judges wouldn't have the opportunity to pass ridiculous lifts.

If he really wants to prove how good he is he needs to lift in a proper federation.

Proper according to who? The purists who think powerlifting should be strictly raw? Or the IPF guys who thinks single ply is a good spot to draw the line? Or the multi-ply guys who feel like it should be all-or-nothing?

I think tieing an all-time 242 record @ 198.. he's already proven he isn't a slouch under the bar.

I completely agree that the squats deffinatly weren't in, but suggesting powerlifing is a joke, it's killing itself, Frankl's a joke, multi-ply is a joke, American powerlifting is a joke, etc. is a slap in the face to those who lift legitimately under the same rules.

How can you claim he tied the 242 record at 198 when the lifts clearly weren't any good? It just makes a mokery of the records and the sport.

Agreed!

I watched Dean Bowring squat 420 in single ply kit to GBPF depth on Saturday and it was great, deep honest squat no arguing with anything.

My issue with these is I don't give a s**t who takes what gear wise, or what kit anyone wears but I want to see honest depth squatting.
