Each to their own and all that but I'm not sure the logic behind doing such long dragged out sets when you never work for long periods like that in contest well if you have to you're not winning the event. Maybe ill be proved wrong come end of January at the fitexpo though

I'd guess that by doing something for longer will mean that short intense comp period will seem easier.
Kinda like why cars can go 100mph+, it makes "normal driving mode" smoother and easier on the engine.

Strongman events are anaerobic, training for long periods makes it an aerobic exercise. IMO it's better to work at 60 secs at maximum effort rather than 3-4mins at 70%

terry what do you do/recommend for conditioning?

60 seconds i see, but would you do that once or say five times?

5 times I do.

I'm not gonna say I know everything and I'm not saying marks pt is wrong just not how I'd do things and would be interested in the thought behind it

yeah of course, more than one way to skin a chicken

do you tend to do conditioning on events day or throughout the week too?

In the week. I also do kettlebell circuits where I do 30secs on 30 secs off. Swings, squats, press, push press, snatches, press-ups with hands on kettlebell and crunches.

Looks like a lot of what is in that video is a waste of time. Better ways to do conditioning and more specific ways (laying down rolling with a sandbag?!?! Confused ) Be good to see him back competing this year though

i reckon the rolling with a sand bag will hit your core pretty hard, ive seem boxers doing a similar exercise with a medicine ball, so it must be harder with a 110kg sand bag.
