Think I messed that up... It's a link to the 105s scoresheet on my Facebook... Every competitor got a print out of the scores, which was a nice idea, so if my link doesn't work then someone will put there's up I'm sure.

Being a last minute thing and only deciding to do the comp on Wednesday I had no training for this and not touched any strongman equipment in the past 6weeks... Took the pressure off doing well (",)

Weighed in fully clothed at 88kg

Event 1 car deadlift

BMW 1series... This car was heavy, I'd guess about 260kg in hand!!! 3people no rep'd this and the rest were around the 6-8rep mark except Baz Whitehead who smashed 15reps out who went before me and Tom Hibbert who went after.

15reps joint 1st (16points)

Event 2 fire engine pull

Due to the floor being somewhat moist the distance was reduced to 10meters. Everyone struggled with this event and the best distance was 80cm for 2nd place...

3m 60cm 1st place (18points)

Event 3 85kg (skinny) log

Not much to say... Tom smashed this event with 12reps, 1motion was defo the way to go!!! 8reps by Richard Maunders, Alex Dyer and Mike Neale.

8reps joint 2nd place (14points)

Event 4 200kg frame carry 30m (drop and turn at 15)

This was the biggest balls up of the day for me... Don't wanna sound big headed but normally I'm awesome at this type of event!!!
Thinking two sausage rolls and a can of monster would be sufficient food for the day was stupid!!! No real problems with the weight, simply felt as tho I was running through custard.
To be fair tho the top 5 were only a second apart so it was really close but unfortunately for me I was at the bottom of that pile!!!

5th place (14points)

Event 5 barrel carry and load (60inch, poss a bit higher)

5kegs, 2 100kg and 3 80kg... Tom had caught me on points now and we both sat at the top with 62points!!! Again as with the frame carry had no energy and 0% determination to get a good time... It's always the same when I compete, first few events I smash and then something happens and I loose all the will to carry on!!! Could this be down to not eating enough???

5th place... Again (14points)

Overall 2nd place... I didn't deserve to win, the last 3events were embarrassing, Tom was consistent and made up a hell of a lot of points to catch me and beat me... To be fair I made that to easy for him, dropping 12points in 3 events!!! I really need to speak to someone that can help me out with what I should eat to maintain energy levels during comps (",)

Good day all said and done

the BMWs being rear wheel drive make all the difference, the opens guys smashed the 3 series

i have the spreadsheet for the full days event which i will post up later

pictures when i get them back will go on my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/newspartan.gym i didnt take pics at all this time

few lessons learned for next time, but for a first comp think things went extremely well, though i was let down massively by BioX who had agreed to sponsor prizes, which i ended up footing the bill for (i will be speaking to them)

if anyone of the 1,2,3 in both comps sees a pic they like i can get it tone mapped and sent down to you for the picture frame
