Nneerrr, I don't let it bother me, I used to own a mk4 vw polo with a 1.4 16v engine I was told on many of the forums I can't turbo it as it's a na and If I did it would blow up, well i took there advise threw it out the window and bolted a turbo to it changed a few internals and ecu etc and ended up with over twice the power and as far as I'm aware it's still about now lol, so you see I give ppl the time of the day and I take the bits of advice I want and think that would work, the gut who owns our gym (my sponser) (excuse the spelling) said I should train every day or I won't see any gains, I trained three days a week and ended up doing my first comp this year as I was very confident, I kind of know what works for me I'm just seeing if anyone else has any ideas, my last diet was a big one instarted out with oats eggs bread milk green tea, second meal was pasta tune third was pasta chicken four was rice pudding fifth was a big ass tea and sixth was a breakfast bar and a shake before bed I also was snacking on 200g of nuts 200g on flapjack chocolate
and three shakes plus a gallon of water to wash it all down, my strength went threw the roof I put
on over three stone in about three months and ended up with a 54" chest 31" legs 18" arms but also had a 44" gut to go with it lol, but I took the wrong advice andcut before my comp got down to 18 stone and lost a load of strength, I now know not to listen to body builders and just do my own thing again, lol sorry rambling on again man u can tell iv had to much caffen at work lol, any ways thanks for the help guys and gal, diet and my spelling pmsl, will be doing a training log thingy for myself and my brother who is starting next week, I'm trainig us both for englands for next year I know he can do it as he is a big bugger without trainig let's see if ican keep up lol

thanks again
mat spence

p,s if this doesn't make any sence at all it's because I'm on my iPhone it's gay lol

Looks like a good clean diet there. The only thing I would say is that the amount of food there including the nuts etc for snack, you will bulk very quickly, but it will be a lot of fat! Im 6ft 6", and 17 1/2 stone now, up from about 15 1/2, but this was over the course of 18months - 2years. A lot of people will say you can put on a pound of muscle every week, and magazines will say you can do about 5 per week. The only way that weight gain of lean muscle would be possible is if you're on the roids.

From personal experience, my weight is going up slowly (about 1 lb per month), but my bodyfat is constant and has recently even lowered. So my intake is about right, and its currently around 3000-3500 calories per day (plus the odd treat now and then), and although my gains in weight are slower, its lean muscle, and my strength is only going up.

I think what you have described is about 4000-4500+ calories per day if you include snacks aswell. My advise isnt gospel, its just personal experience, as you may well be different to me, but I can also put on bulk VERY quickly if needed, as you can. Just remember that although having a lot of bodyweight behind you is good for some events, its the muscle that has the power and strenght not the fat. And if you are lean, your endurance and stamina will be a lot higher, and that seems to be where this sport is now heading.

This might not help at all but hope it does in some way.

Dyslexia = excuse for being lazy IMHO. At least use a spellchecker if you're that 'challenged'.

hey buddie just stumbled across this n its good to c some1 puttin themselves out there n asking for help. cant believe the clowns moaning about your spelling etc, sad. this is my first season at strongman and its going very well. i have come over from competitive bodybulding, so obviously nutrition was key to me. i have adapted my diet slightly since coming over to add extra body weight and fuel the more extreme training. i am 6.2 and weigh 20.3 stone, this is not a typical strong man or power lifting physique im talking about, im walking around at that weight with abs and am very cut n dry. from what your telling me it sounds u are a fast gainer put prone to high water n fat gains. 3 stone in 4 months would definately be due to lot of water n fat n not a lot of muscle no offence. i could waffle on and give u a stupidly detailed plan that u would get bored of so i will give u some key points that i think will benefit u.

1. plenty of water for good hydration and carb absortion. minimum 3 litres

2.big breakfast as been fasting all night. oats then eggs or protein powder and plenty fruit would be good example

3. fast acting carbs after training like dextrose or maltodextrin mixed with whey protein

4.add fish oils to your daily supplementaion and a decent multi vit and mineral

5.plenty of fruit and veg. broccoli, bananas and asparagus great sources

6. nuts are a good source of healthy fats and protein, almonds are great example

7.due to your ability to gain weight fast get all your carbs in through the day and once your day is over and training done, then reduce or even cut out carbs. carbs taken late on when not doing anything will not be used and will be stored away this will lead to gains in fat.

8.be consistent and have day off every week when u eat foods u enjoy. good luck and train hard i will keep my eye on this thread, feel free to ask me anything mate

Thanks big grey, my problem is I need pointing in a dirrection with somethin as i have no idea in what I'm doing lol, but no offence taken me old I put on fat and weight very easy, I usually drink about angallon a day with out shakes I use cod liver horny goat weed mix vits magnesium andGinkgo biloba, I know what works for me i think it's just when I should eat what at what time, I personally think I don't need to eat like a hard gainer as I store it to easyily, if I keep it simply and have moor carbs morning and noon and start to eat moor proteine to the end of the day, what would you suggesti should do sorry to pick tour brains like this lol and man 20 stone and cut lol that's mad lol,

Thanks again for all the help and sticking up for us lol

Yyyaaayyy two dizzys together lol, but honestly chap I get it on every forum I go on, I used to have one to ones with my special needs teacher because I was so bad, I must admit when your 15 16 and can only read at a 10 year olds level and spell at the same it's quite embarasing so i learnt to bottle it up inside and took it out on my
mam and dad what was not nice at all but I might add at the age of 21 when I split up withy ex and it was
very messy ( she was doing the cha cha with a so called mate) I said I would never take shot of anyone again and iv been true to my word ever since lol, it's a hard one to explane really not everyone with dyslexida has the same problems, I miss out words when Reading and writting and sometimes see words that aren't even ther, but even though I had all these problems I still managed a modern apprentship in techniqual services and have my onc even though I can't spell for s**t lol, I have started up my own busness with a work mate some to do with horses and phizio etc and it should be ready soon, so for a
thick get I ain't doing to bad so far, lol thanks again bud it's nice to have someone on my side for a change lol

cheers mat

I don't think anyone here is NOT on your side Mat, it's just we're not good with 'critique my diet' threads because most of us don't care that much about it! Happy
