Hello Everyone, Please could you help me which rack would you recommend Pullum Sports Pro R Gorilla Rack or Watson Gym Power Rack.
Both are nothing fancy just their standard power racks built in this country and at around £1000 mark including VAT.
A brand out of the box Powertec or Body Solid would cost around £600 including VAT so a little more expensive for a UK built rack. Not sure on the pros and cons of either, please let me know what your professional opinion is for the best of the two, sorry for another power rack thread but it is a minefield finding a good power rack built in this country and will last a lifetime and cost under £1000 including VAT. Both seem good racks to last for a lifetime of solid use.
Cheers Slow Lift Joe, new to the forum so thank you all in advance.

Are you going to bolt it to the floor? If not try and get one with plate holders on both sides. The weight adds stability and saves floor space. It's nice to have band and pull up accommodation too.

i had that one but in grey when i trained at home - think it was rated to 1000lbs certainly weighed a lot and sturdy.
ones you mention for a grand seem no different in hole spacing or weight capacity.

Give Dave Obrien a shout on facebook

He makes competition spec racks that are just things of beauty (I know I've got one in the garage).

You'll get change from a grand as well

Its a rare moment when you see a sugden thread which is started with a request or question that is then, In a polite and friendly manor responded to.
Start a thread about strongman and its a whooolllle ball game.

Good luck on your rack purchase please let us know what you go for and how you get on with it (Order time installation etc etc)

Thanks for all your help to date. I will give David O'Brien a call to see what he can do. The reason I was after UK power rack so I can pass it on, a heritage style power rack that will age well, put to good use and looks like a classic style power rack with safety pipe/pin/sabres. Not sure about the Powertec rack or the Body Solid GPR378. The new styling today seem to be matt black with big shining bolts like the Rogue racks which seem to get good reviews with their Westside spacing. Bulldog Gear in the UK are going down that route. Watson Gym appear be more for powerlifters and Pullum for weightlifters and sport in general.
That is why I short listed these and maybe Beaverfit.

Very difficult to choose what would be best, should I aim for certain gauge of steel and upright width 75mm x 75mm or would I be okay with 60mm x 60mm.
Budget and a good specification do not always work hand in hand.
Any help is appreciated and sorry for another power rack thread, so do not swear and cuss, it only a power rack thread.....was that a 20 kilo plate whizz by my head ?

If you decide to have one made id go with 75mm box section. Thats what mine is made from and it feels bullet proof, even though ive not yet got round to bolting it down.
