Its Jim Fisher bud, train with macca when he's not up Leeds way, I was thinking about it but lost job recently so that's put a spanner in works, should have done the bpc brits in wales but had to miss that so was hoping to fit another in before end of year but its 50-50... Not sure if Scott will be doing that como, think he's doing deadlift only at Folkestone and then GPC worlds, but a young lad called James Cooper might give you some competition in the 100's Martin, lads come from nowhere with a 250+ squat, 200 bench and 300+ deadlift..... Your trainings looking good mate the 300 squat looked spot on. | ||

I'll admit I used to train with Martin. For about 4 years or so. Not much in the last 12 months though unfortunately. Good to see Mr. Brown training unequipped for a bit. Wish he did when I trained with him regularly. Would have saved a lot of f**king about in my dinner hour training sessions back then. Lol And yes...I was taking the piss with those numbers. If fit and training for it I could see him going over 800. In the years I trained with martin he rarely trained raw but was still probably good for a 190 bench from what I saw. Plus 300 dead and similar squat IMO. Fingers crossed you stay relatively injury free and fit Martin! X | ||

A rest is good, a rest full of beer and crap food may not be quite as productive for training... So the plan for this week got adapted: Bench press 60kg x 5 100kg x 3 120kg x 1 140kg x 2 x 5 140kg x 1 felt something pop in my shoulder so stopped... Squat (belt only) 60kg x 8 100kg x 3 140kg x 1 180kg x 1 200kg x 3 x 5 5 x 100m row sprints - best time 14.3s, worst 14.9s Well the shoulder seems in one piece still, got the physio to have a quick look but nothing seems to have cone off anywhere so that's good. Squats were easy Looking forward to building the weight up over the next 6 weeks | ||

Deadlifting wasn't pain free but saw it through and cut it short with only a single set at working weight.For only 232.5kg they felt pretty damn heavy though. Got a massage later, been doing more rehab work for both my shoulder nerve problems and my right leg, this will not stop me competing end of September! | ||

The 247.5's felt hard work but went ok. I think I have forgotten how hard squatting is more than being weak. | ||

Bench Press 60kg x 10 100kg x 5 120kg x 1 147.5kg x 2 147.5kg x 1 + major pain Felt something go at my chest on the second rep - pretty painful in the pec/minor area and symptoms of a pec minor tear. Just what I needed but certainly not at all surprising. Possibly a result of too much mobility back in my shoulder joint and not having developed the strength through new range. Or just something that has been coming over the last few weeks and a result of the shoulder pain I already have. Either way I hope after a week or two it seems ok again. For now, rest, then massage and light stretching and see how bad the damage is. | ||
