After a hugely successful day where we had the local radio and papers both covering the event and even a surprise visit from Cornwall Channel who will be airing a small piece next week on Sky Channel 212 Freesat 401, helping to raise awareness for breast cancer.

We have decided to put on a First timer/novice event. The event will be in Cornwall(venue to be decided) and will be near the end of September. Hopefully with a licensed bar and BBQ

Preliminary events

1. Deadlift for reps 200kg(from 16’ height standard Olympic bar large tyres) 75 second time limit to do as many reps as possible. No suits are allowed. Straps and hitching are allowed.

2. Overhead Press Medley. 40kg dumbbell, 70kg log, 80kg axle once all 3 items have been lifted by the athlete he will go back round to the dumbbell and repeat the lifts on each item, until the 90 second time runs out. Each completed lift is worth 1 point. Most points wins.

3. Farmers walk 80kg head to head. 20m turn 20m back. Fastest time wins.

4. K.S.O.S 3 part Medley. 200-220 super yoke 20m ,80kg keg 20m sled drag 20m. Fastest time wins. A time limit of 90 seconds

5. Front hold head to head. The athlete will be strapped to a pole to avoid any leaning backwards, the longest time held will win.

6. Keg loading 80/100kg. 80kg keg worth 1 point per repetition or 100kg keg worth 2 points per repetition loaded over a bar set at 52 inches. Most points achieved in the 75 second time limit will win.

This competition was a great success we had 16 new athletes take part some great results from everyone involved even thogh it was raining practically all day on grass. Thanks to everyone that helped and all the competitors and people who stayed to watch through bad weather.

Here is the highlight of the competition for me event wise.
