Been messin about with weights on n off since i was about 16, been liftin regularly for a couple of years. Naturally a pretty big guy so have decided now to just get stuck into strength now, if i drop any fat its a bonus, if not f##k it.
Tried few different routines in the past 5x5 etc, usually do push - pull - legs nowadays.

Thurs session-
5mins x trainer
Shoulder press - w/u, 60x8, 70x7, 75x6, 75x3
behind neck press - 40k 2x10
dips - 3xfail (2/3ish)
tricep extention 30x12 30x10
some machine n cable work

Todays session-
5mins x trainer
sq - w/u, 100x8, 110x7, 115x6(x2)
leg press, 250k of plates x8 x3
seated calf raises 110x8 (x3)
some ab/core work
then off to work, deadlifts tomorrow.........................

Hi pal,
maybe a stone or so of fat, iv stayed about the same weight all the last couple of years iv been liftin so guessin dropped some already, not too concerned nowadays tho. tried different routines with (much lighter bb-ing) friends but always come back to wantin to move bigger weights.

welcome mate !! throw a bit of higher intensity stuff in there , mmmm , mabie some 20 rep dumbell snatch/clean n press or the concept2 rower and you will burn a bit off in no time , im finding it tough to lose weight and get stronger , but it can be done (i hope)

Welcome to Sugden. Like Boar said - throw some dumbbell/ kettlebell work, HIIT cardio and box jumps to your weekly training and youll ditch fat for fun.

Im gunna kep tryin to up the PBs a bit then maybe go to watch a couple of events, never known where to look for info till signed on today. Do you go to meets?

there's guys on here from all over. if you decide what events you'd like to train start a thread asking about events in your area and check the comp database.

Anyone know of anywhere (other than sugden) in the northwest that does strongman stuff? Nearer Rochdale.

Olympic Sports Gym is the mecca of Strongman training - its in Ashton Under Lyne. Theres a link at the top of the page - i live in Blackpool and train there at least once a month.
