Judging by the times that are coming in, the hold must be fairly light.

I was thinking that too, but lots of the guys didn't use straps on the deadlift ladder, so maybe grips already taxed
and they have power stairs ahead.

The lengthy times suggest it was too light.

2mins of strongmen' just standing on a forklift

Had anyone seen or heard of Hooper before this? I’d seen ‘the worlds strongest fan’ suggest him, but never heard of him other than that. First international comp and he cruises through to the final!

I’d watched a few of his videos on Instagram but he’s definitely surprised me how easily he dominated the “group of death”.

He’s only 26 as well so might be around for quite a few years yet. We may end up in the Novikov/Hooper era and Tom Stoltman keeps eluding to having a break after this years WSM

Listening to his YouTube hes not got a lot of gear. Never done the car walk or power stairs. He's confident he will win. He's either the new mvm or a mad ladHappy

Seems like a sensible lad with some work ethic, talent and genetics. Interesting to watch a few "smaller" guys come through as genuine threats. Just wish Matius K was there.

Yeah was a lot of hype about him, he won static monsters seemingly out of nowhere an put up a 475kg competition deadlift soon after that. I predicted he would go through to the finals but had Evan in my 5th spot, i think now that's probably where Mitch will end up. He could possibly win the first two events in the final but he's very inexperienced and has never done a truck pull or powerstairs so i think that's about as high as he could place with tom, novikov, brian an martins in the line up. Who the f**k knows though, even he doesn't.

What will Hooper do with another year or so of training? Supposedly he was running marathons a few years back and he isn't particularly massive either.

None of it makes sense

He was saying in his recent podcast with giants live that when his comp was cancelled a few weeks ago, he did a 10km instead in 55 minutes, which is impressive at 140kg bodyweight.

He’s intriguing to listen to

Hooper wins the first event.

I can see him winning the 2nd event as well. He is a freak.
