The basic idea is that you go back to basics like the Romans. who marched and battled all day on pretty much nothing then feasted at night. Its supposed to keep your sympathetic nervous system active.

A mate in uni is trying it and i do not envy him. I had bacon, beans and toast with a cup of tea. it was lovely. he was in our lecture chomping on nuts. I cant imagine going without food and having successful work outs!

Anyone tried it before?

I've got a mate who is doing intermittent fasting, similar idea

In 6 weeks he dropped about 8% bodyfat, but NO weight, and is stronger in the gym.

Not gonna lie, it seems fantastic, and I am going to try it

It's a simple concept really, stop eating processed foods that are body cannot deal with and use properly and eat stuff that has been around for thousands of years; that's natural and our body knows exactly what to do with it.

I read the book, its pretty interesting although Ori Hofmekler makes alot of statements and doesnt provide too much back up for it.

I have tried Intermittant fasting (although lean gains style) and didnt get on with it but if you do it can be a powerful tool.

Might be an idea to check out Michael Kecks modified warrior diet, it has more of a strength athlete orientation to it.

No disrespect to your mate, but how fat was he and what were his eating habits like before he started the diet?

The vast majority of people who experience rapid losses on named diets (intermittent fasting, warrior diet, velocity diet, carb backloading etc) tend to be the ones who had bad diets and/or a lot of bodyfat to lose in the first place - therefore any dietary protocol which makes them cut out junk and thereby both consume less calories and control insulin levels will give them similarly quick results.
