But studs do, should those be disallowed?

I suppose you could argue that without studs, players would just spend 90 minutes slipping all over the place. Which would get quit boring. A bit like an ice skater without ice skates.

Adding equipment to lifting is like making the pockets bigger because your s**t at snooker

The problem we have sport has grey areas, look at formula 1, it would be better if all the drivers drove the same car,..

Or is Formula 1 motor sport to test the cars. One driver drives all the cars.
I think there is room for both in sport. Have a tested no gear Olympics and a no holds assisted Olympics. Let the audience vote with their feet if the want to watch neoprene clad, recumbent cycling, Roid mutants or not.

I lift bare feet no straps, chalk, belts or any assistance I can think of and usually wont allow clients to either, unless it's for health reasons. If I am not strong enough to lift it without help then I am not strong enough... I need to work on a weak link.

I do not compete, am weak as piss by any strength sport standard..perhaps this is partly whyHappy

I won't squat without knee sleeves as my knees are fked. MAYBE they would be better if I'd used sleeves before. 200kg squats without belt or sleeves and hardly any warmups when I was 20 years old were a bad idea from a balding 34 year old's viewpoint.
