I recently bought metal pro king deadlift suit and even though it's a size 56 (140kg), It still feels ridiculously tight around the legs (i plan on growing into the top half!) Like my legs bulge and muffin top around the leg hole, is that normal? Also, I can't reach anything below waist height, but I hear that's normal for a first time too. I just measured my leg and it's 29.5" in circumference at the very top. The size guide suggests this 140kg suit is ideal for 27" legs, but i dont know where that's measured from, or whether it's just meant to be tight as fook fit?

Basically, am I doing suits wrong? Is it meant to feel like a full on work out getting into the suit? Is there a clever way to slip it on? Will it 'stretch' and become easier to use and will it fatigue over time?

Thanks

That's very normal, in fact I'd say eventually you'd want something even tighter.

To get the suit on, you can use "slip ons" from liftinglarge or just use shopping bags (Chris.J had a recent Bench video showing his Asda bags!). It will stretch with consistent use.

Thanks, it'll get tighter as I get fatter, I don't plan on staying at 120kg for long! I've just watched a YouTube video with the shopping bag idea lol, brilliant. Thanks a ton.

I think they're supposed to be mega tight.

What do people get out of these out of interest? Do I need one? Debating getting one for comps where they're allowed...

I get about 20-30 from my very loose suit or briefs. I'll be getting some tighter gear later in the year so I expect that to be closer to 40-50.

Well that's deffo worth it then.. I thought maybe 10-20kg but if I can get that much from one Happy I take it the type/design/brand of suit makes a difference, some being much better than others? Also I don't really know what the difference is between a squat suit and a deadlift one?? Confused

ah, thats explains it then!

TBH (differnet thread all together) that is one of the main reasons I dont like sumo....its more of a "squat", so you can get tonnes out of kit!

You can pull in a Squat suit, depends how you pull I guess. I pull Sumo in a Centurion Wide Stance Squat suit; people normally say Sumo gets more from gear so perhaps that accounts for my increase? Or perhaps it's cos I have a gammy hamstring and my raw is lower than it should be? Who knows.

But anyway I don't really know how it works for Conventional, I've never tried it.
