That's how I've always done them anyway. Strong work nonetheless

1000 post points - NAILED Member 2026, 1344 posts SQ 195, BP 152.5, DL 235582.5 kgs @ 94kgs UnEq | floor presses are usually done starting in a racked position of a bench press rather than a bottom position press, but if you can improve the weight lifted whos to say yours is 'wrong' - keep doin em if you think theyll cary over to other lifts noone competes in a standardised floor press

Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22018 posts | In my experience, horizontal pressing of any sort = shoulder hazard. I've been doing heavy overhead pressing for many years without any issues. I once hurt my shoulder benching 60kg. Plus, when I quit strongman I had a crazy idea about maybe training for a bench comp. Did some floor pressing (off Argos catalogues) in my garage... and got shoulder pain. I will only ever press vertically now. So many powerlifters seem to have f**ked shoulders. If you're a strongman - avoid!

Probably lift a bit less but no shoulder problems lifting this way for me.
