Since I started 105 SM 6-7 years ago, the quality of welsh SM has been a bit derided
But with Ant, Simon, Owen, and the static beast that is Goswell, I say at least 4 guys who can be competitive for BSM 2014 podium at the very least

f**k you then! lol

All the best Jay, I'm sure you will be successful in your other goals. Its a tough decision and one I've had to make myself, and some days I still think I can compete but realistically you need to walk away for good.

same to you Owen!

I did this 5 weeks ago and I'm suffering with my wrist still, although I never broke it!!... not a smart move!!

and hopefully martain jones will he come back for one more comp Wink

When I first seen the comp and events I thought yeh I might have a crack at that, then I stopped and thought of how the hell could I train in time to reach some of those weights again... give me two years of full on training and I might be ready lol.

Griff was injured mate
Neil Evans was meant to be coming I belive...but never truned up lol
As for me, I'm just wank at approx 55% of strongman events Wink

55%? well at least you over acheived in this comp with 50% wank events lol. Just think of the potential to do better mate..

With regards to the injured there are people who were invited from lower down that never bothered - I really don't see why people would miss out!!

Well Done Captain Chris.

Not impressed about the lack of show from the Welsh boys... they can't be that serious about Strongman!!

JC - That's shocking to think you had three event wins and 3 last places... if only mate!!

not all my logs weigh the same due to several factors
wall thickness of the tube being different
some have an "inside disc"
some have "inside disc" and a solid loading pin

Mines the latter - 82.5kg and a solid bas***d too.

You realise this is not the first two man 18inch deadlift.... and Rob and Loz done 800kg plus a few years back. Just saying!!

Steadmark said:Would like to say a big well done to all competitors who competed especially Lewis Graddon getting a PB on the deadlift 300Kg and placing joint 6th with JC overall. Big well done to Antony Griffiths coming fourth really good performance from the Welsh lads and well done to Valdes on coming 3rd really surprised me and I think he surprised a lot of other competitors.
Would like to say a big thanks to the K2 Gym and Pro supplements UK for sponsoring the event and Kate Austin, Martin Jones, Terry Hollands and Martin Cee for all there help during the day would like your feedback on how the comp went as it was only my second comp I have ever put on and would like to have some feedback to see what I can improve on for next time.
Well done to Ben, Dan and Valdes coming top 3 and Karl Grant on smashing the British record on the deadlift from 350kg to 380kg and here are the results and points.

1st Place Ben Kelsey - 74 points
2nd Place Danny Cave - 60 points
3rd Place Valdes - 57 points
4th Place Antony Griffiths - 49 points
5th Place Mark Robertson - 42 points
6th Place Lewis Graddon - 42 Points
6th Place JC - 42 points
7th Place John Marzden - 40.5 points
8th Place Karl Grant - 32 points
9th Place John Rudgard - 30.5 points
10th Place John Pollock - 26 points
11th Place Danny Morgan - 25 points
12th Place Damien Turner - 23 Points

Right then guys please find below the full correct results. Sorry for any confusion caused but I was not party to the final assessment of the result, but I have now QA'd and adjusted. You will see that this does not reflect on the main positions and does include countback.

1st Place Ben Kelsey - 74 points
2nd Place Danny Cave - 60 points
3rd Place Valdes - 56.5 points
4th Place Antony Griffiths - 49 points
5th Place JC - 42 points
6th Place Mark Robertson (countback one 2nd place) - 41.5 points
7th Place Lewis Graddon (one 3rd place) - 41.5 Points
8th Place John Marzden - 40 points
9th Place Karl Grant - 32 points
10th Place John Rudgard - 30.5 points
11th Place John Pollock - 25.5 points
12th Place Dhanni Moar - 24.5 points
13th Place Damien Turner - 22.5 points

I haven't had time to upload the pics of the score sheets and to be honest they are very messy. If Mark would like to post them up please do so. Either that or put the break down on a spreadsheet.

Hope this clears a few things.

Ben_F said:Well done mate, two lasts and still finished right up there despite injuries... those countback scores need sorting (I will say why on Wednesday).

I'll get them off Mark and do it properly. I think its a typo anyway as Mark had 47, not 42 but I'll double check when I get my hands on the results.
