Your missing the point completely.

Its not saying your the strongest in Wales. Its the most powerful. Besides thats just semantics.

Its doesn't matter if you guys dont do it, there are others that will.

Oh and how come someone has to get your approval?

No it doesn't. WSM is only for the Welsh, and only that will qualify for UK's. Wales Strongest Man will always be the main event. Its under UKSC.

There is no harm in having another comp to help the guys get prepared.

oh this is messy. However for the sake for keeping the peace it would be silly to change the event, however it's not right that Simon has one object that is used in the comp that is quite specialist. But saying that this was agreed along time ago. And no negitive reflection on Simon.

It is what it is and I hope you guys appreciate the effort its going to be for Ty to do a round trip to collect it everytime people want to practice.

Ty - unfortunately you will never get it right!!!

Anthony make sure you are doing this comp, I've heard that you're not.. don't be silly someone has to retain the title!!!

It's not long now guys, I've seen and heard guys lift really good recently. So i'm expecting one hell of a fight!! I'm actually looking forward to it, and i must admit i haven't felt like that towards SM for a while.

Its only a title. You could call it the fattest bas***d in Wales... its just another comp that local guys can do and if guys travel from other areas then great.

People better make sure that their lifts are good... I'm a bugger for lockouts and good technique lol.....

Exactly the wrong attitude IMHO

My point was you don't have to have a big venue to run a decent comp. If time effort and money is not reasonably practicable, then you have to do what fits.

If you have organised a great venue and prize money etc then great, I wish you all the best. I'm sure the lads will be over the moon with your work. I was not putting your efforts down, I was simply stating what works and being as the venue wasn't sorted (until now) it would be a great comp if it was in someones back garden.

If it was closer I would come and watchWink

Yeah absolutely , but if the chance of a stadium venue is still on the cards its got to be better.

Too big and too flash..... Not worth the money or the time spent on it.
» Wales' Strongest Man 2013 (Go to post)06-03-2013 @ 13:17
Some promotors stay and some go... its hard work putting on a comp.

I think bring things back to basics in Wales is whats needed. To many people try to run before they can walk. Car parks and unit as locations are great if the time and effort are put in to make it a success.

If you qualify then you get the TV coverage. Wales Strongest Man does not need a big venue or TV... it was painful to watch last year. Let the comp standard progress naturally and stick to the basics.

If Mark is offering to put on the comp let him, no one else is stepping up, and time is running out.

Good little tickler for people. I think its a good idea, give people more chance to compete locally and putting the two classes together works!!

Nice one Mark!!

ok martin, yea mate its suited for moving events outside, static inside...our sponser realy wants to use his yard whice is bigger,changing/showers etc etc..just waiting for a nod off his land lord..

Fair enough mate, just a thought.... Hope your training is going well. It must be time consuming trying to prepare for a comp and organising a few.
