The small town we are in has a relatively young population, and has roughly 1,500 people. The nearest gym is about 15mins drive away, which is relatively ages in such a small place. People complain that the guy isn't great and that they dislike his character, and the women complain that the gym is dirty. His kit may come up for sale in the near future, which will save me a fortune as I won't have to pay import duty, shipping etc. Also, because the population is relatively small, customers for commercial gym equipment don't come by that often and I could pretty much take the piss so he recoups SOME money, but only a fraction of what he's spent to bring them in. If he doesn't like my offer, he will be stuck with it all.
The salaries here vary from £400 a month to £2,000, but nobody has a mortgage. Petrol is cheap, food is cheap, and a large proportion of what people earn is disposable income - the complete opposite of London really.
£22 a month (100TL) is the going rate for gyms, which can go pretty far.
I legally MUST get an architect to draw up plans and give me a price.
Anything in particular you wanted to know about "business" side of things?

sounds good. Just generally how it's going as and when you update would be nice Happy

Will be interesting to see. If you can include a bit about the business side of things too as you go that'd be cool. Good Luck.

Come the deadlift champs, there is going to be a lot of expectation, and some of the athletes have made some big claims about what numbers they will pull.
I can't wait!

Both Benni and Eddie are talking about a 500kg pull.
Even Terry, who is usually very conservative about this kind of thing is saying he will pull a minimum of 475.

Are they dellusional? Purposefully talking themselves up to build hype on social media? Or have they recently discovered a new wonder supplement responsible for a step-change in max strength lol.

Time will tell...

Yep. It's a shame because Malanichev's squats used to be of such a high (lol) standard.

Ive never understood how anyone can bomb out? Barring a drastic injury on the first lift it just seems like such a stupid mistake to make to open on a lift that isnt guaranteed.
And that lift wasnt close, he never looked in control from the second he took it off the monolift.
Hope the spotter hasnt sustained anything that will hamper him too much long term.

He was just being an arrogant prick really wasn't he?

I mean seriously, who opens with an attempt 20kg over the world record?

Serves him right that he bombed.

If you had to guess, how good would you say his grip is? I've read people's thoughts that he'd be a better grip athlete than Burke if he cared much about it.

Eek

Either would be epically cool though.

Cool

Sam, if you had to choose, what would you rather, a 600lb bench of 1000kg total?

He's never had back strength like he's posted up recently (440+?) and whilst he may not have the benefit of youth against the rest of the field he has superior experience over most of the other entries. Not necessarily competition experience, but experience of himself. Whilst you do lose attributes as you age if you are realistic you can gain a kind of confidence in yourself that only comes with age. From the little I've seen Terry is waking this walk. I wouldn't surprised to see him coming second behind Brian.

Terry is only 2 years older than Brian, and 4 years younger than Z

Not quite PL depth from Shaw but not far off.

I'm sure he could do a decent squat in a PL comp if he wanted to.
