Aye, sounds fine to me, though what about jo and kathryn? I guess we could just use relative weights and they could compete with us, or separately and have like 4pts for the winner and 3 for the 2nd place? Would this work, I'mnot sure.

I say keep it to 4 events (coz im lazy and would get sleepy after the 2nd one) though 5 or 6 is fine, if it's logistically doable in the time.

Aye, impressive squatting indeed! Like tubby says, 215 easy and 222.5 unlucky. Looked like you were going to grind it out, and was f**king close.

What is powerlifting? Grin

Thick bar deads for reps then? In reality I reckon it's too much to do both. We can have a deadlift event in there, but that's about all we can manage. The rest of the events will be carefully structured to give great advantage to the edinburgh team (joke).

Looks pretty good. Can I ask whay the shoulder presses twice a week? Are we talking one light, and one heavy? I'd tend to stick off strict pressing unless it's light, if your shoulder's suspect, although I could be off with this.

What weight are you planning to start the triples on the bench at??

Good stuff! Aye, alex can throw the 100kg badboy about like it's a pebble. He's actually better in a few aspects than me, but hey, I'm giving too much away already.... Happy

Are we talking head to head, like below? (we can get lots of close face to face angry shots for the doco Happy)

jono vs olly
me vs the fat man
spug vs adam
alex vs rob
kathryn vs jo

deckerz - strong f**ker = guest. Unless we get to steal him and you boys bring another character?

the winner takes a point, meaning it can't be tied unless there is a draw, then we have a mofo showdown, some kind of mad f**king event involving lots of kilts, bagpipes and oats... oops, giving away the gameplan again.

Rumour has it that a virtual glove has been slapped in the face, or thrown on the ground, as a challenge to a duel of the strongman abilities of the edinburgh cult (ie Jonathan) by the Sudgen menace (ie Olly). Come on guys, lets make this one happen. I guess one decision is that do we (the other dudes and ladies) stand back, hold the coats, and watch the crazy boys go head to head, or do we have team s**t? I'm sure Rob and I could busy ourselves with going head to head on making a documentary about it (easier than picking up heavy weights) Happy

Thoughts and suggestions?
» Do not trust the sugden scales! (Go to post)16-10-2006 @ 09:33
I reckon the weigh in at 112kg with clothes after a solid days eating is right. Those scales are certified by the edinburgh cult. There are talking ones in argos that got the top review in 'which' magazine recently, and are supposedly pretty spot on accurate. You could get a set for the house, but when you put your fat ass on them, they might come out with something like 'Ouch, get off... get off!'

Excellent squatting man! Hard rep but I reckon you (and your temp coach adam Happy) got it spot on with the warm ups and weights.

Time to max the envelope and nail a bench pb before backing off tho!

Agreed. Solid performance. I reckon a couple of areas of focus, but imo you could still enter the qualifiers next feb.

Also, me and Olly started hyping up and exchanging random abuse 2 hours into the session via MSN.

Can we see some examples of the form this abuse took? Just for scientific research purposes.

Solid deadlifting Olly. Good to see some big numbers back in your log!

I should have eaten first, but what can you do... Did the trick though. Always lift better after a good feed.

I guess the shrugs were power shrugs but im not really down with the termo. First time ever that i've used straps though Happy
