Anyone got any advice for getting the odin elbow sleeves on? Very snug

No problem! Talc on the inside of them, and get someone to pull them up from behind.

No probs. I'm using the Impalas now too, instead of the Lokis, really liking them so far as well!

Meatfish said:Hey Buzz

Finally managed to check my Lokis and mini bands today (arrived last Tuesday, 22nd). The minis are bigger than I was expecting, same size as the Iron woody or Jump Stretch Super/Monster mini band (slightly thicker and more resistance). Is this right or are the wrong ones in the box (they are purple if that is of any help. I compared with an Iron woody mini I have and they are def thicker. The difference between Minis and Monster minis is the Monsters are the same width but a fraction thicker. If they are as they are supposed to be any chance I can send them back for a couple of Iron woody minis (plus the extra cash of course and they are unused). If I use these doubled for speed benching I'm liable to kill myself...

Also, like the dumb git I am I ordered a size 10 Loki as I wear an 11 Ironwork 2 but they are predictably still a size too big so can I send them back for a 9? Feel like a good shoe, but even done up quite tight my foot was still all over the place. Only worn the right one once in the house to check so they are in new condition.

Dave

Hi Dave,

The purple bands are the no.1's, but fine to change them if you like. Same with the Lokis, just send an email to the warehouse (info.strengthshop@gmail.com) for instructions about how to return etc. As long as they're posted back within 7 working days of receipt, in new condition, and in original packaging, it's no problem.

No specific rating, but we've had it up to 350 without any issues.

badmongo said:Hey Buzz

Been paid, about to palce order for larget blue rehband knees (up to 45cm for my 50cm knees should be ok?)
Also keen on a pair of odins for my elbows, never used fabric sleeves before, elbows are 38cm approx again advice on sizing would be good as i havnt got a clue on fabric sleeves. Cheers

Yes, should be fine with the XXL Rehband knee sleeves.

Odin sleeves are mega stiff, so little give in them I'd say for 38cm elbows you'd need XXXL knee sleeves. The size guide indicates larger than this for the knees, but takes into account the fact that the knee is a bigger joint, and it's much easier to pull them up onto them knees.

Just to clarify...

How many qualify for BSM? (I know its probably 2 Happy)

Does every athlete have to take the opening weight ie. 200kg on the deadlift and then has 2 attempts left? or they do then have 3 after that? or they don't have to and have only 3 attempts?

B&Q wont be happy that its a Sunday but I'm in!

You don't do much at B&Q anyway man, they won't miss you! :P

Would assume 2 qualify, but will try and confirm soon.

Don't have to take opening weight on deadlift. Will go up in 20's from 200 to 280, then in 10's.

Anyone wanting their name down, please pm with full name, and for payment details.

badmongo said:Think I'll get the rehbands as i generally squat raw. Guessing odins would add a bit to the lift. My knees are about 50cm around, not to sound dim but which size would be best?

Just check the sizing guide(s) on the drop down menu(s).

badmongo said:Hey, planning on picking up some rehband sleeves as my knees are giving me bad times in squats. Would they be a better option than odins for helping with knee pain?

Depends purely on how much support you're looking for. Rehbands better if just looking for warmth and a small level of support. Odins, totally different ball game, very supportive, similar to a softish wrap in the form of a sleeve.

No probs Adam, Dave, Scottish and Jacko!

ursus said:Hi Buzz , another daft question im afraid mate.... i wanted some of the triple ply Thor elbow sleeves and knee sleeves but my arm at the joint is 41cm (but your xxxl sleeves only go up to 30-32cm)and knee at joint is 51cm (and your xxxl sleeves only go up to 40-45cm)why do they make them so small when strongmans got the biggest guys in the country? is there any chance of any bigger sizes coming in please ?
Sorry for the moan but i really wanted some of those !! Happy

Hi Ursus,

Yeah, they're the same dimensions as the Thor sleeves, but we'd specified the sizes and hadn't taken into account the fact that there's pretty much no give in these at all. You'd be best with XXXL knees for your elbows, and fair chance they'd fit your knees as well but would be very tight. I found I use XL knees on my knees but when I put them on my arms it's the same size I'd use on my arms, just due to the fact they're a lot easier to pull up onto the knees, and the joint is much bigger so can take more 'pressure'. We'll get some bigger sizes with the next batch though yes.

Hywel said:Buzz,

How solid are your Olympic Flip Lock Collars? I am currently using your Screw Clamp Collars, but once I go above 50-60 on the DB, the collars fail miserably on the clean / press (they are fine for non explosive stuff tho). Will the Flip Locks hold up to much more weight?
Cheers.

Will always be hard to get collars to hold that kind of weight on a plate loadable DB, but we had 60kg on ours on Friday with the flip lock collars and it was fine.

MrSmall said:Question about the gym mats, buzzman!
If used with your wl bar and your bumpers, can the weights be dropped on them without damage to the bar/weights, or do you need something underneath them as well?

The General speaks Truth.

Don't need anything under them, but more to do with how evenly the bars dropped, from what height, and with what weight. Not going to damage it dumping a squat with a couple hundred kilos though.

colossal said:Hi Buzz - i very much want you to sell me a glute ham developer, the one now at 249.99, but its one of those pieces of kit its hard to tell the quality from a pic. have you got any more vids or pics? is the £40 shipping price the best you can do on it?

Thanks!

There are quite a few photos on the page, but that's all we have, and we don't have a video I'm afraid. Might be someone on here who has one, though they've only been in since quite recently. Yes, £40 is what it costs us to ship, more because of the size than the weight.

Can you look into getting

Ling nam ultra balm.

Possibly, but these things are notoriously hard to source. We stopped stocking the Thai Boxing Cream because of supplier issues.
