The new bar arrived today, just before I left the house, so it'll wait until tomorrow to unwrap it!

A strange session today. Was supposed to be cardio and some chest and shoulders (thought I'd slip a Tuesday session in as I bench Thursday and Sunday). I also called in to my new workplace to meet the new colleagues I'll be starting with next Monday before I trained, so maybe the pasta had worn off by the time I started training.

Cross Trainer - 1 Km in 13.44 - pb, smashed 14 minutes, sweating like a good 'un when I finished
Chest Press Machine - 45 for 10, 70 for 10 100 (bottom peg) for 8 x 3 sets.

On the second bottom set I started feeling a bit knackered, on the third set I totally hit the wall energy-wise and left it there.

Probably just not carbed up enough and depleted from the cardio. I'll go back in tomorrow to do back and rowing (rowing last!!) and see how I feel.

That's a great improvement on the cardio mate as you said, you didn't beat your PB you truly smashed it. Fwiw, when I was doing a lot of cardio I always did the weights first. The weights did adversely affect the cardio but nowhere near as badly as the weights were affected if I did the cardio first.

Yes John, agreed. I tend to vary it. Today the target was smash 14 minutes and then do some weights. Tomorrow, the target is to hammer the back and then do a bit of cardio... Nice to see you popping in Happy

No mate. Just got one of the Strength Shop Oly Bars. Can't deadlift with the one I have, plus I have two benches but one bar! Just waiting for something to protect my floor and then I start deadlifts again.

Haha. We'll find out soon. At least I'm not financially dependent on the job if I hate it - not that I think I will. Bound to come across a few idiots I reckon - but then what job doesn't that happen in? Employer is really hot on staff welfare, zero tolerance on abuse, etc. ...

you'll be getting the regects that the other dont want to deal with as they would be scared of the reaction and they probably want to see you hammer fit there face into next week.

There's only 2 Housing Officers, patch split geographically (about 1000 properties each) so won't get all the crappy stuff, just the crappy stuff in my patch!

Tonight in the sports centre...

Lat Pulldowns - 5 sets of 10 with 65
Facepulls - 5 sets of 10 with 40
Ab Machine - 3 sets of 10 with 55
Arm Curl Machine - 5 sets of 10 with 30, 35, 40, 35

Concept 2 - 1000m in 4.43 - pb of sorts in that it wasn't as slow as either of my previous attempts. This machine is wrecking my lungs though. Not sure if I'm just unfit, or if I'm compressing my lungs as I lean forward (this happens when I tie my laces). It feels really easy, but wipes me out. Confused

Followed by the obligatory steam, spa and sauna. Never been so clean. Just need to sort out my mind now.

Thanks Olly. Looking forward to it, I think. I've not worked properly for someone else since early 1997, so I just hope I can readapt! On the plus side, I've not had a guaranteed regular income since 1997 either! I may be working 2 days and then going on strike lol! Is that a record?
