It's not just that you go up from 10 to 11, but you have to do the 10 again after you've done the 11. But strangely, felt easier than last time. See what a 12 does to me next week!

Deadlift

Second session back. Knee hurt less, 13 extra reps but overall felt easier than last week - and they were effectively deficit deadlifts because I wore my work boots with thick soles. Still pathetic, but it's a start, and it will get better.

Didn't train Tuesday because of lambing, and Wednesday because I had an afternoon engagement, so Thursday it is.

70 for 10 - wow
70 for 10 - good grief!
Finish.

The plan was 92.5 single, 4s with 80, 6s with 70 and 8s with 60. Pleasantly surprised, less weak than expected. More optimistic for future sessions than I was a couple of hours ago.

Very pleased. Back to 100 far sooner than expected, took the pyramid up to 12, which meant 23 more reps than last week, and had the energy to train for two hours, which is an unusual thing for me. Next week the weight goes up to 65 and the top of the pyramid goes back to 10 - or maybe eleven if 10 isn't a real challenge.

The down sets of the pyramid were really tough as pre exhaustion kicked in, but it's definitely bringing me on.

Another good workout. Should have trained at 3, but fell asleep. Should have trained at 5, but spent an hour in the gardens with the dogs and the sheep. Eventually started 6.15. Got the reds out for the first time this year. Definitely felt heavier, but probably just a trick of the mind as the 100 was actually easier than on Saturday. First time this year I've repped with 90, which is good, because I couldn't do a single with it a few short weeks ago. Right forearm hurt throughout, need to remember to get back on the anti inflammatories before I train.

Arm Curls

It's many moons since I last did arm curls, so nothing too heavy to ease myself back in.

Pyramid sets with 12.5 dumbbells
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 - double arm
12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - single arm

Far easier than I expected, which is far better than the alternative.

Trained in the garden, hopefully out of sight of passing eyes.

I've been feeling tired all day, well since Thursday to be truthful. Managed to sneak the comeback number up to 102.5, then loaded the bar for volume work, but just knew in my gut it wasn't there. Disappointing, it's the volume that's making me stronger, but it is what it is.

Edit: seems the problem is my Ramipril dose was increased from 5mg to 10mg on Thursday and left me feeling like a zombie the last three days. At least I know why, might try volume tomorrow if I feel better. If...

First time since last Saturday. Still not feeling right, a weird combination of hunger, lack of appetite and fatigue. No energy all week. Still, finished recording my album on Monday, so a good week nonetheless.

great news on the album ! will the studio set up you used be able to produce the difficult second album ? didnt you say you already had a catchy title ?

anyhoo, the 'friend' on facebook that made the comment about self praise ..... quite unpleasant

hope the rampril effect settles down , keep them comeback PB's steady , just like Armand Duplantis breaking the pole vault world record 1cm at a time
