I think he could choose which category to lift in. I think he'll choose the junior as he has a good chance of bringing home the gold. If you get to the point where you could also make top 3 in the worlds it is not unheard of for them to send 2 guys in the same category. For example I think Tom Martin and Steve Manuel will both be going as senior 93s.

I understand. That does make sense.
Thanks again mate!

Lots of stretching.
Lots of talking - I've managed to persuade a 74kg lifter to powerlift, competitively! A very strong lad, considering his lack of 'proper' training and inexperience in the gym. Tonight he recorded a very easy 160kg squat, ass to grass. He's also claimed to have pulled 210kg and pressed 130kg (albeit "...with awful technique"). We are going to discuss things further, he may well be ready by March/April. A 500kg total in his first outing would be sensational.
High Bar Squat: Technique work, up to 80kg
Front Squats: 110kg x 5 reps (final 2 reps paused)
Bench (paused): 100kg x 3reps x numerous sets

Low Bar Squat (beltless): 95kg x 3 reps x numerous sets
Bench: 65kg x 3 reps x numerous sets
SLDL: 200kg x 5 reps x 2 sets.
notes:
Squats were very fast, technique is getting better and better.
SLDL's were surprisingly quite easy, especially the second set, strangely enough.

Very familiar with Kersal Mandem's extensive back catalogue, however nice SLDL is a new for me, I'll be sure to keep a look out....
Thanks for the kind words Jack!
How's your comeback coming along? How long till we see a 300kg deadlift ?

Top work there pal.
Top work there pal.
Cheers Appetite! The most important thing was, it didn't feel overly hard, and that there were, definitely, more in the tank

24-01-14High Bar Squat (belted) - 100kg x 3 reps x multiple sets
Bench - 65kg x 3 reps x multiple sets
Deadlift (belted) - 140kg x 3 reps x multiple sets
Notes: First time wearing a belt in around 8 weeks, so I was expecting the addition of the belt to feel somewhat strange, however I wasn't expecting it to feel as strange as it actually was, especially whilst squatting.

Deloading and the reintroduction of the belt. Also, my first time doing 'cleans', I use the term loosely as my attempts are... awful?!
High Bar Squat (beltless): 120kg x 5 reps
Deadlift (belted): 200kg x 3 reps
Bench 77.5kg x 5 reps
Clean: up to 100kg x 1 x 2 sets
