Been a while since I've been in here I did britains strongest Man U90kg and this is how it went ...... Hadn't eaten since Thursday as I left it to late to lose the last bit of weight. Event 1 - 125kg bar FTOH Had been doing sets of 8 in training so waited to see what everyone got. Stuart was leading with 6 so I knew I needed 7 for the win. All went up easily enough. Knee wasn't to bad afterwards either which was a bonus. - 1st Event 2 - 300kg yoke & 125kg farmers Another event I was looking forward to. The course was shorter than 20m so times were closer. Finished in 17.1 secs with no real problems. - 1st Event 3 - loading medley of pain This looked awful! 6 items (80kg tyre, 75kg keg, 100kg keg, 110kg sandbag, 125kg anvil, 125kg barrel) had to be loaded onto a 3 1/2 foot platform with a 10m run in. Not to many people finished it so I knew 6 items would be big points. Took it steady and finished in 1min 21 secs. First at the time but some good athletes still to go, I didn't think it would hold up, but it did. - 1st Event 4 - truck pull It was 3 vans in the end as the truck company pulled out a few days earlier. Another event I didn't know what to expect. Just kept my head down and pumped my legs. Set a good time of 23 secs, but still quite a lot of athletes left. Again it managed to hold out for the win. - 1st Event 5 - axle deadlift Very high 300kg axle deadlift. Been getting some good numbers in training but had to work for them. Today however I couldn't be bothered to push myself. Didn't set up very well. Only wrapped strap once and it was slipping straight away. Got to about 10 and thought to myself anything around this is decent, so put a few more up until my strap came off and left it there on 13. - Only good enough for joint 3rd Event 6 - up down medley 100kg barrel overhead, 150kg duck walk onto 21" platform, 110kg log, 170kg duck walk onto 18" platform, 70kg dumbbell. All very comfortable. Can't remember the time. My favourite event of the day. - 1st Overall - 1st Happy with the performance, happier to come out with no injuries. A bit sore but training starts for Europes strongest man u90kg in the next few days. Well done to all the lads competing it was great to see some of you again. Well done to ant and Dave on running another fantastic show. Also all the loaders spotter and refs. Thanks to all the sponsors they provided the athletes with goodies all day. Team north13, boost and USN! I've put a video on YouTube - jamesward1984

Thanks again guys! Luke I'm not sure mate, my patella tendon on my left knee really gives me problems when I go heavy, so I always leave a bit in the tank. Maybe 180ish I think.
