I'd like to offer a recipe suggestion.

Get some nice thick cut bacon rashers, cook them till they are quite crispy then put guacamole between two rashers like a sandwich. Great meal for the low carb'ers out there.

Well you could be eating bacon everyday but that might not mean your eating over maintenace calories whereas if your eating bacon on top of everything you normally eat then you'll put on weight due to excess calories, your post seemed to suggest that eating more bacon won't do anything to your weight which is wrong.

I disagree for two reasons

1. I think calories in/out is at least questionable. There appears to be at least some evidence that it's what you eat that matters more than the calories. If you add bacon to a high carb diet I'm sure you will gain weight, but if you replace carbs with fat then perhaps the results will be different.

2. I believe, based on personal experience, that eating a breakfast of say bacon and eggs (without the carbs....) that you may actually end up eating less calories. Personally I have found I have had to replace bacon and eggs with porridge because I was loosing weight too quickly.

I agree with the second point! Macros will change body composition but I'm pretty sure calories will determine weight gain/loss

Even if 2000 kcal of sugar has exactly the same effect on weight as 2000 of protein or 2000 of fat (which I doubt), but if it then causes you to want to eat more is it relevant?
