Your right, he should not lockout his bench and only pull a deadlift to his knees too - thats the best way to train

Let's play nice people.

If the squats were high this week, they won't be next week - Simples!

That's why I've started videoing my training, so I can make sure everything is peachy.

I'll get a better set up for next week and get some skin out for you all Grin

Cheers

Why though? If your max with 190 is 10 for example without, you should be able to do 14 (or whateva, the point is more..) with

I get what you're saying I just don't really see the point (this goes for equipped lifting in general i suppose). I'd find 190 for 10 with just a belt more impressive than 190 for 14 with wraps.

I just don't get how we have got so obsessed with big numbers, that it's become the default position to use equipment that provides positive resistance to get them.

Just my opinion and I know it's not one that everyone shares

I agree with you there mate, I much prefer unequipped lifting as it's a much truer test of strength.

Squats did look a little high, but as has been mentioned I'm sure the camera angle doesn't help, regardless my best ever single is 190 so seeing you rep it out easily is very impressive.

Looking forward to seeing the next installment, keep up the good work mate!

Moving events in strongman (running with heavy yoke & farmers, carries etc) can be very harsh on the knees

A bit of added assistance on the knees might be a god send come comp time

Good point JC and not one that I'd considered.

I'm new to all this strongman lark so perhaps my views will change in time...

The key I think is to not do yoke/farmer's too often.
