I think, looking at the pair of them Jamie and Caz had very similar genetic potentials. I recon, all being equal both would have done well in modern comp conditions with modern training tec.

It's hard to say because they both over did it back then and wrecked themselves with injuries. Today there's way more pressure to over do it, weights are way heavier, standard way higher etc no doubt both could succeed today but would need to do things differently.

From the read it seems he often didn't max out in the gym and trained more simply to get stronger but still very impressive numbers, especially doing 600lb bench a number of times and repping 75kg dumbbells standing with kaz (very hard exercise for those who have not tried it).

The 180kg looked like an easy warm up too, looked like he was more in the 200kg range if pushed for it.
