The pro to the former is not needing a powerful microcontroller... Would bring price down more and battery life up! I'd say raw captures, much more processing power on the phone (or alternate device), plus can also send it somewhere else in case you want to process it again in the future. I haven't found an API I can't work with yet  I knocked up a phone app that tracked a workout (I think I sent you a copy ages ago). Should be easy to knock up a similar prototype linked to your data to test it out. | ||
