Well excuse the title but you have to believe in yourself!

Hi, I'm David or Noka as everyone knows me. I'm not sure how well kept this will be but I will try.
I'm pretty new to the game but progressing well. I lift with and am coached by my buddy Aaron or AMH power as he's known on here in our own gym we put together so there's an advantage for starters!

As of now we are using an rpe system and training the components of the lift breaking it down into start strength, band work and maximal lifts. Training is going amazingly well and as of the last 6 weeks I'm adding about 2 kg a week onto my lifts. I'll take it lol. Battling a bit of tendinitis in my arms but I'm dealing with it.

Tonight was deads. Love deads, my best lift by far. Reverse bands, so bands from top of cage. Tonight was a maximal day. Arms were griefing me a bit. The bands take 80 at the bottom and for me as I'm a bit taller 30 at the top. Worked up to but then failed a 290 at lockout which was a bit disappointing but fair I guess given the pain I was in lol and I think it was more technical than strength, I was a little over the bar. Tried for a 2nd attempt but I was spent! Grrrr.
No accessory work this week so that was that.

Holiday next week so will give my stupid arms a bit of a rest then back to starting strength Happy

So let's see how this goes. As the title suggests world domination is the goal! Lol. Good to meet you

Poor! Lol. I only started training again when he moved back here after nearly 2 years off or something like that. I've done a bit of gym work in the past but nothing worth a mention and not aimed at competition. Think I was 100/100/180 when we started back in January. Squat, bench dead. Actually I need to update my profile (will do in a sec) deadlift is 250 now and those numbers have been achieved when really I should be fairly weak I.e spent, from the previous weeks work so it's looking good Happy

Before the lay off i was more interested in pec size than numbers lol. God knows. I've always been pretty strong for average joe, farming genes, and i have a very physical job so that definitely helps.

I will post what I've done after each session but as far as clearly spelling out the programming I'm afraid not. There is a LOT of time and effort gone in to our routine planning and Aaron's vast brain has been on overdrive. Some things get tweaked along the way, as they do but he has put a hell of a lot of brain power and trial into the current plan. It's working fantastic for me but that's not unexpected as as a relative newbie I will, or should, gain well but it's not just working well for me! Aaron is without doubt the strongest he's ever been by a long shot!

If you want the meat and bones you'll have to ask the big man I'm afraid, it's not my gold to give away Wink

Thanks, I want more. Bench is a thorn in my side, slower progress than the others but my form and skill level with it has finally clicked into place.
Squat is and will rise fast now. Feel really strong with it and due to using reverse bands and having to unrack and lock out extremely heavy (for me) weight of actual weight on the bar now when I perform a "normal" squat it just doesn't feel heavy on me at all. It gives you real confidence even when your squatting maximal.
Deads in a good place. As I said before it's the lift I love. I'm very very strong off the floor it's lockout I need to work on. Once my lockout matches my take off then you will see some big numbers. I can get 300 off the floor but getting to lockout, well that's a whole nother story lmao.

For where I'm at tho so early in the game I'm definitely excited and I've got one of if not the best coach I could get so I'm going to give it my best shot!

Well first session back after weeks holiday.
Brutal!

Box squats tonight. Was a bit naughty and had a test of my "normal" squat max before box squatting. I know I know but after the break I was curious to see if I could set a new max after the rest. No, is the answer lol. Not lost anything but couldn't hit a 155 which was a bit disappointing but never mind. Bit of good news is the tendinitis didn't flair up but a week off stretching (another mistake) made it very hard to get under the bar properly. Thank god for the Odin wrist wraps.

Anyway box squats.
Few work up / warm up sets then 105 x 5 belt less for two sets followed by some conventional squatting with that 105 for reps. Simply to try get some explosiveness going in my legs as they felt very lazy tonight.

My start strength is good but my explosiveness isn't. Need to really make my band weeks count.

Finished off with planking and some barbell glute raises as accessories.

Amazing what a week off can do. Previous I was getting under the bar easier and feeling strong but tonight I felt lazy even tho my mind was in the game the legs didn't seem 100% and getting under the bar was murder lol.

I did drink booze more or less every day on holiday, (don't usually touch a drop!) didn't eat as much as I would either so I'm guessing I'm a bit dehydrated etc because my legs are griefing me now like.
