Member 5364, 11 posts SQ 220, BP 172.5, DL 220612.5 kgs @ 116kgs UnEq | Hi All, My names Neil, I'm 30 years old and have now competed in my first 2 powerlifting competitions this year. My background is gymnasctics which I competed in competively up to the age of 16 and since then I have continued to be involved as a coach and judge. I took up powerlifting training at the beginning of 2014 after a long lay off from training. There was no reason for this I just got bored with training and needed something to keep me focused. My results so far are as follows: Cheshire & Lancashire Championships 2014 B/W - 108.6 Squat - 150 Bench - 127.5 Deadlift - 180 Total - 447.5 All England Championships 2014 B/W - 112.5 Squat - 185 Bench - 140 Deadlift - 200 Total - 525 My next competition will now be the NW Championships on the 30th November and I aiming to get as close to a 600kg total as possible. | ||

I've managed to squat 190kg last night and hoping to get up to my gym PB of 200kg very soon. I've also benched 147.5kg at the weekend so everything is slowly fitting into place. I'll find out on Wednesday where my deadlift is up to and then plan out from there the rest of my training. | ||

Not quite up to my goals set but here's what I'm hoping to lift at the weekend for my opening 2 lifts: Squat Lift 1 - 200 Lift 2 - 210 Bench Lift 1 - 150 Lift 2 - 160 Deadlift Lift 1 - 190 Lift 2 - 200 These are all lifts I have hit the gym since the All England Championships so I'm confident I will get these. The 3rd lifts will all be PB attempts but I'm hoping to finish with a total around 580. | ||

Squat 200 - Pass 210 - Pass 215 - Pass and a PB Bench 150 - Pass 160 - Pass 165 - Fail Deadlift 190 - Pass 200 - Pass 205 - Pass and a PB Total - 580 (new total PB) All in all a very pleasing day. I've now set my targets for 2015 Squat - 250 Bench - 180 Deadlift - 250 Watch this space! | ||
