Sorry for the vomit scene... pre lift nerves maybe (LOL) or too much food. Either way, this is the result of my 5 week cycle to move on from 140kg.

What were you nervous about, that was easy. Well done to you, a mega weight to press overhead at such speed.

In comparison I'm slowly progressing with the 50mm axle bar press and looking forward to building up to my first strict press with a mighty...50kg,Grin

Cheers. Been a bit of a slog getting there to be honest but got 160kg in my sights. Using the John Clark methodology of going for weights I know I can get. That lift showed there's more there.

Was just joking about the nerves... I had drank some water from my bag which was RANK!!! I opened the wrong bottle haha. Made me chuck up.

We all start somewhere mate. Go back to my very first videos and I struggled with 60kg like every other person here probably did.

Could probably hit approximately 65kg strict axle press (which would be bodyweight) yet I am progressing slowly using higher volume with small increments of weight. This will be better for long-term progression.

Can I ask for more details regarding your 5 week cycle that you employed? Interested in learning from you.

Yeah been away a little while but these were all hit within the last few weeks. Glad I'm over my court issues and spider bite. Really harmed my training.

Just a simple progressive overload type thing really. Took my gym PB of 140kg and then did this for 5x5x each Monday

Weight Volume % of 1RM
105 2625 75.00%
110 2750 78.57%
115 2875 82.14%
120 3000 85.71%
125 3125 89.29%

The 6th week I did my lift but KNOWING that the lift I went for (in this case 150kg) would be an easy lift and not my true 1RM. The way it looked and felt proved this much to me.

John Clark from Fit365 has written an article about this type of thought process although I settled on a 5x5 progression myself.
