It always amazes me that lifters can get injuries like this, seemingly out of the blue, with weights they are apparently accustomed to.

Hoping for a speedy recovery.

Regarding the spotters there's little they could with a fail so close to the bottom of the squat. A power rack would've caught the bar, mind. I wonder how you never see racks when the weights get so high.

dazzachap said:So the GBPF, would that be the most widely recognised? and where all the best lifters compete in? Domestically anyway, looked at the unequipped records between the 2 and their quite similar for 90/93 kg classes,

GBPF has greater depth, you could say.

I presume we can be sure that this was a genuine error? If she's tested 12 times a year there's no way she can be cheating. Is there? Or would her coach lie about the 12 times per annum testing regime? I really don't what to believe with these weightlifters!!!

They're great for cardio. I'm not sure they'd build strength on top of squats and deadlifts. Possibly!

5.5 minutes
Schumacher did some laps the other year but slowed down in a different spot each lap for cameras. Apparently some people did maths and worked out his splits etc to make it into a 5min 30 sec lap overall...

Oof, way faster than anything else!
