I thought you got more drive from the push press if it's resting on the collar-bones?

Nice session anyway mate, your training is looking very strong.

Feel free to mention to either WIGAN or myself next time we meet. Real easy one to sort out this JMWink
AvatarBoar
great vids there olly n jon, that yolke sure is a awsome piece of kit !!
AvatarSparrow
I'll have a chat next time I see you Andy as it's been doing my head in for a while this one. Thanks for the input (and Rob).

Cheers boar - if you ever make it up here you will have to do the yoke - it is like an instrument of torture - absolutely f**king horrible, you will love it.

Sun 11/2

Another top session today with the 'regulars' Olly and Joni (who both had great sessions) and big Pete (not fat Pete, or big Phil who are 2 totally different people).

Log press
70kg x 3
80kg x 2
90kg x 4 PB
80kg x 9 PB clean and press in 75 secs

Shouldn't have push pressed heavy on Friday, shoulders were still quite achey today.

Farmers walk (40 metres, 1 turn)
70kg
100kg 18.8 secs time PB
120kg PB 24.8 secs

Yoke
232kg x 20m 12.2 secs time PB
252kg x 20m PB 16.6 secs

Stones (no tacky)
to 48 inch platfrom
105kg
130kg
140kg
150kg PB
130kg x 2 PB

Feel like I've been run over by a train now. Everywhere is sore/stiff - shin, knee, back, neck/trap, elbows/forearms, chest. Oh what fun though!
AvatarJoni
that was a top session mate, awesome progress from week to week!

Hope the shin heals quick too.
AvatarSparrow
Cheers Joni, just hope to keep going in the right direction!!
AvatarJonathan
Excellent training as ever Jonny!

You have shin splints too? I bloody hate them - they are always the first thing to go with me.

Jonathan
AvatarSparrow
Yeah, they seemed to start after the 272 yoke last week. As soon as I started farmers today they were sore but I just kep going through it. I suppose they need rest but that isn't really an option at the moment.

Thanks
AvatarRick
Do you hook grip for farmers'?
AvatarSparrow
No, there's no need to as the handles don't rotate, and even though they aren't knurled and are quite thick, they are actually quite grip friendly. Hoping for big things to come on these in the future.
AvatarCuddles
Grip friendly? I could barely close my fingers last night.

I hope to god you feel as s**t as I do today. I didnt just get hit by the train, the f**ker reversed to make sure.
AvatarSparrow
It's hard to distinguish between illness and totally f**ked up-ness on Mondays now. Seeing as it's been the last 3 weeks I'd definitely say it's the latter.

So yes, I've been a total wreckGrin

we just call it "sugden love".

14/2

Front squats
up to 132.5kg x 3 PB easy

Power jerks
60kg x 3,3
65kg x 3,3

18 inch deads
missed 220kg - a bit worrying as I feel I should be playing with this weight. Maybe my lower back is tired from all of the stuff on Sunday?
