hello my sugden brothers of strength
as you know i have been through a tough time of it the last 12 months or so.
ripped my calve clean off at UK's strongest man and i continued to train arround it as i was getting invites to some big once in a lifetime comps
i was scared if i turned them down they would never come again
but not resting the injury was to cause a lot bigger problems

took silver at the WPF worlds in vegas, then finished top at the Scottish qualfier and won Scottish powerlifting champs
then it caught up with me
was winning lancs comp before calve played up in farmers and at the arnolds after about 6 months of not planting my feet properly to protect the calve i mannaged to rupture both my knees clean off
i thought i was finished with any strength training

i had an awesome team who worked on me in america and only after a few days of
rest and s**t loads of morphine i was back on my way home in a rather nice wheelchair and two metal "forest gump" leg braces
i have to thank my we brother in strength ken for sticking with me all the way through all the troubles we had getting home

once i was home it was rest, nighmares, lots of pain, lots of difficulty and a lot of support from my friends and family
after 4 weeks i got my 78 staples out
after 5 weeks i started my own experimental physio
after 8 weeks i broke my braces
after 9 weeks i started to walk unassisted
after 12 weeks i started pysiopherapy
at 12 weeks i started gym training
at 16 weeks i started lower limbs circuit training
at 24 weeks i was leg pressing
now i am at 30 weeks pre opp and just over 4 months out of my braces

and i have decided to enter the BPO British Record Breakers on 5th Dec to finish this terrible year on a positive note

so this is my journal taking me 9 weeks to the comp
i hope this helps me keep focus on where i am going and where i have been
please stop by and say hi to the man with no knees and his journey back to normality

f**ked but in the best possible way, to feel actual quad DOMS is nothing short of sexual after the pain of the tendon kniting together again
the worst pain was breaking through the scarr tissue and getting ROM back in my legs that was nothing short of hell
i did it the brave way though, not nice

Ah mate it's good to see a new journal after everything that has happened this year!

I still can't believe all the troubles we went through to get home... and as you say nobody would ever believe us if we told them it all!

Lets make it the best prep possible bro, here comes the pain!!!
