Cheers mate. Aye going to make a return to powerlifting next year but will still train events for abit of fun weather permitting of course as I have to train outside. I tried to get an industrial unit sorted recently with a few guys around my way all chipping in, which would have mean't I could have trained specifically for strongman all year round. Unfortunatly due to a few reason's we never managed to get it sorted so decided to concentrate on powerlifting again as I can train for it easy enough.

Went to the Killie gym tonight, big squad of 6.

Deadlift (suited):

120x5
170x3
210x1
230x1
250x1 (straps up)
260x1

Thought I'd get the suit on to get a feel for it again...f**king hated it haha. All easy enough.

C/G B/P:

20x15
70x5
105x3
120x12

D/B B/P:

50's x14

C/G Lat pull down:

77.5 x10
77.5 x10

Good fun session with everyone. Few of them training for up and coming comps so great atmosphere in the gym!

If you can't get a shield made Davy. Just use use a yoke..low pick up, carrying it with your arms. This will at least get you used to having the weight pressing on your chest and get you conditioned to moving in this manner.

Benvie said:Nice session mate, hope the sciatic isn't too bad. You doing the SSM qualifier?

Thanks. I just seemed to be plagued with injuries/problems...I must be doing something wrong!
Right now I'm in two minds about the qualifier. I enjoy doing it but as it's so early in the year and in winter I struggle to get event training in due to the weather so never have a chance of even scraping a qualifing place.
Also contemplating a refocus back to powerlifting next year.

Cheers guys.

Training on sat at mine, big group of 9:

Ifsa log:

65x8
75x5
85x5
85x5
75x14

Just working on technique and speed on the press.

Yoke + duck walk(reps to mimick power stairs):

160x10m
240x10m + 140x6 reps
300x10m + 140x6 reps in 23.4secs
300x10m + 140x6 reps in 22.6 secs.

Caught my heal on the back of the yoke on the 2nd timed run and had to hobble back to the duck walk so was surprised to be quicker than the 1st timed run.

Arm over arm:

140x15m
245x15m

Bloddy knackered setting everything up for everyone and putting everything back.

Trainings looking very strong mate. I know I'm being a c**t but on the 295 d/l your knees didn't look locked out(maybe just the camera angle?), some judges may not give you that in a comp?

Well that's me back training for the last few weeks after hurting my back and having to take a rest.

This weeks training:
Monday(training alone):

Squat(suit with straps down):

20x10
70x10
120x5
180x3
220x3 (knee wraps on)
220x3
220x3

Had to wear my suit with straps down as my back isn't 100% so it's the only way I can squat without my back hurting too much. Also wore knee wraps to make it easier.

Flat bench:

20x20
70x10
100x5
125x2
140x3
140x3
140x3

Harder than what they should have been.

Seated shoulder press machine:

Upto full stack x8

Hack squat machine(front squat):

Upto 320x10.

Then did some shoulder and bicep rehab stuff.

Wed night's training:

18" deadlift:

70x5
120x5
180x2
220x2
260x1
300x1
320x1
340x fail (got it moving but couldn't finish it Unhappy )
260x10 (pb)

Hadn't planned on going so heavy but there was 5 of us training, so was good to push eachother on abit.

Trapbar hold:

235 x 24secs.

Wasn't last out of the training group for a change Happy .

Chins:

Bw x6

Been awhile since I've done these so felt tough.

Thur night's training:

Ifsa log:

65x8
85x
105x3
115x1
120x1
75x15 strict press

Again hadn't planned to go so heavy(well for me) but 5 of us training again so got caught up in abit of friendly rivalry Happy.

Seated shoulder press machine:

Full stack x10
Full stack x10

Another shoulder press machine on an incline kinda:

80x10
110x4

Then did some sort of shoulder excercise with a 20kg plate, don't know the name of it and it would be too hard to descibe. Confused Roll-Eyes Confused
