» For The Depth Nazi's (Go to post)12-05-2010 @ 00:51
Hello All,

As promised, I got a decent camera setup this week and got some skin out for you lot.

Have to say that I felt like s**t today - I need more than 5 hours sleep per night Unhappy

I'm also not liking the depth on some of my squats - I may need to re-adjust my tech a little...

Warm up

195kg x 4 Reps

195kg x 4 Reps

195kg x 4 Reps

220kg x 2 Reps

247.5kg x 1.5 reps

These felt pretty rough - I'm not sure I sank the 1st rep and the 2nd was just a half squat

195kg x 8

Dog Tired - 8 was all I had in me tonight

Felt like a wank session tonight, much harder than it should have been.
I think I need to get more rest.

Ah well, onto the rest of the week

Cheers

» Deadlift training with Straps, yes or no ? (Go to post)11-05-2010 @ 10:32

I don't see how strap usage would hold back dead lift progression (the actual pull).
I'd suggest it IS a coincidence that the names you listed don't use straps.

I think that most people would agree that you can pull more with straps than without (i get about 10kg).

Now my grip is fine for what I can deadlift (260ish at the moment) but even so the bar does move in my fingers little during the lift, which I'm sure affects the speed to the pull slightly.

With straps my arms are literally hooked onto the bar and there is no movement at all during the pull.

Maybe the above is bo***cks though and it's just a confidence boost when using straps that allows slightly higher numbers.

Either way (for me as a competing powerlifter), training deadlift with straps will do me no good as I have to compete without them.

Cheers

Re; DNP

It raises your internal body temperature by a few degrees which turns you into a fat burning machine (upto 1lb a day has been recorded)

It also causes you to sweat like a mofo, turns your bodily fluids yellow (yes, including that one) and makes you extremely lethargic. On top of all this, it's relatively easy to overdose on (overdose amount is not that far away from effective usage amount) and the OD side effect is normally death.

When I was regularly reading MT forums, I got fascinated with the amount of people posting logs about this stuff. I'm sure it must be easier to just watch your cals and do some bloody cardio!

Well said mate !!
Ill find the chemical name out but i remember the 2 american bbers who were injecting industrial dye cleaner for its weightloss properties who abused the drug and died from overheating as it f**kd there internal body temp up !! Or how about the countless numbers that die from insulin overdoses, apart from Jessie Marunde and Jon Pall Sigmarson i cant think of a strongman whos died from abusing chemicals?! And Jon Pall was a bber aswell as strongman and jessie unfortunatly died from EPO Unhappy

DNP would be that chemical mate - some people over at MT love the stuff!
