happy squats felt good after first few sets. didn't want to push too hard but back felt good
sumo pulls felt better on work sets. hook grip made them comfortable but bar wasnt great and
was holding smooth section
front squats felt like a 1rm on first rep but got easier and easier as set went on - leading to
me dropping down to quickly hitting the rack and not being able to recover.wanted ten reps
and think it was easily there despite the fatigue

billynomates said:I think most events are easier for Shaw cos of his size. The contest might as well be called Worlds Biggest Man

In that context I think Zydrunas' achievements are all the more impressive

the last event they took away the advantage of height on stones and made it more a test of strength - shaw dominated.

Z is a great competitor but far too many elevate him to more than he is making excuses for his losses but then criticise any other competitor who has an injury and mention it

Mindspin said:Z will be back.He placed 2nd in 2013 after only just having surgery a few weeks before, no one can beat Z when he is in shape Happy Ed Hall/thor at there 100% best can't beat Z at 85% but Shaw can. I can't see Ed topping 4th place unless the top 3 get really injured. A few names coming up in England I think will overtake Ed in the next few years. Terry has been at the top for a long time due to his genetics. Shame about Loz as he had great potential for podium, dropping weight drasticly has effected his equibirium on events this can then increase chance of injury. I guess he wanted to look good for his PT business? Hope he heals up and gets back to his normal shape.

who will overtake Hall soon? not being antagonistic, genuinely asking?

Costy said:Didnt Z and Shaw do any big shows before worlds?

Think Eddie did one too many shows and despite breaking the world deadlift there the second arnold probably was what lead to his elbow/tricep

great result for Shaw

does seem on here when Z underperforms against expectations its explained away by injury yet Hall clearly injures himself and his performance is due to him being over rated. seriously good result for eddie beating thor on stones. if he continues to improve and doesnt do three big shows before WSM next year he could easily get on podium.

do think what others have said about getting your set up right in the first instance will help buti found kettlebell bottom up presses great for teaching gripping the bar and for keeping your wrist straight
