Last set of cleans, ugly power clean but good hang clean. Press was disappointing but getting happy with the log.

Axle clean and two jerk balances: 50, 60, 70, 70, 70

Log was pretty good, got gassed on the AMRAP, tried to take a breath in the rack position so no chance. Happy with the sandbag.

Monday 7 March

Log: Worked up to 85Kg and then several singles at 75Kg
Axle: Worked up to several singles at 85Kg and then a few axle hang power cleans at 70Kg

Not a massive session but did what i wanted to do.

Getting happier with the power jerks on the log, cleans on the axle were OK.

Away with work until Friday so no kettlebells or proper training for a few days. Comp is in less than two weeks....

Only 2 weeks until my comp now but Im going to have to take another week off. Been suffering from a bad cold but...
Got taken into A&E thursday night was dizzy beyond belief, slurring and couldnt see properly. My heart rate was a little low they told me and sodium levels in my bloody were low.
Its possible I had/have labrynthitis, the inner ear condition affecting balance, brought on by a virus.
So rest this week and drastically reduced my intake of water (oooooops)

f**king hell mate, sorry to hear about that. Rest up!

Training seems to be looking good mate Happy

Cheers mate, just hope it wasnt a one off visit! You'll nail it on Sunday mate, no problem.

No probs Mr Board, hope it helps. the log somehow manages to be fun and a pain in the arse at the same time...

Saturday 5 March

First time i have weighed myself for a bit. 82Kg which i am happy about.

24Kg Kettlebell swing breathing ladder 1-20-1: 1 swing, one breath recovery, 2 swings, two breaths recovery.... 20, then back down to 1. 400 total swings.

Was expecting it to be much worse than it was. Very happy with the swings, the bell was popping up nicely throughout, the 24Kg felt light.

Fair amount of standing around but made me regulate breathing between sets which was kind of the aim.

I imagine paying with the work/rest ratio with a lighter bell for snatches would be quite horrible.

Conditioning seems to have improved quite a bit since the kettlebelling, and again, no back pumps!

So much for hanging around to do my deadlift PB on squat day. Banged the PBs out of the way and went out to look at the athletics track, daydreaming about banging those runner and polevaulter chicks in the f**king ass with my own slippery pole. Two words kept going through my head all the time "Rape" and "Meat", over and over. Those b**ches were giving me a twitcher at 100 yards. The ass, man. You guys shoulda seen their ass!

lol too much anabolic cheesecake mate?

Can i have some?

Cheers Bryce mate, bit relieved to be honest, it was really pissing me off ha ha!

Wiegieboard said:Nice log work. That was a good strong session you had there. Any tips on it? I've cleaned the 70kg log but I can't press the thing overhead at all. It feels so awkward!

Thanks mate, was happy with the session.

I am probably the last person who should give anyone any advice when it comes to the log.

What helped me is to make sure the log is racked nice and high, when i was trying to one motion i started pressing far too low which pushed the log out in front of me instead of nice and vertical. Also dont take a breath when it is racked and have a strong 'dip and drive'.

Hope this helps mate, feel free to let me know if i am typing out of my arse

Wednesday 2 March

Log:

62Kg: 1-1
77Kg: 1
85Kg: F-1-1-1-F-1-1
70Kg: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1

Stones:

5 loads to bottom platform with lightest stone and 7 loads to bottom platform with the heavier stone (still no idea what the weight is)

Away for most of next week with work so this might be my last heavy session before the comp which isn’t great.

Really happy to have finally get the 85Kg log, lost a lot of time with the one motion. Try not to take a breath when the log is racked.
