massive respect for Terry for doing as well as he did - inspirational recovery from his injury!!!
Very happy about how well misha did - i bet he will be looking back at events where he lost points and think, maybe he should get some of this equipment to train with... He could go all the way.
This years WSM does sound like an epic and i cant wait to watch it on TV.

Can anyone see Z being beaten in coming years? seems like on certain events like the log press etc he is a fair amount ahead of everyone. 212.5 kg log is unreal.
In my humble opinion he is the strongest man ever. Well done to Terry Hollands also, very inspirational what he did.

I'll second that, From seeing Terry getting the injury a few months back in London to seeing him perform to to the max in WSM was unreal!
Not once did he give up on any event and he loaded all the stones.
Travises (broken foot, if thats what it is) injury pissed him off but he fought through pain and still done all events.
Where as Poundstone IMO lost heart this year, i know he had a late injury but half way through the finals he didn't look like he wanted to be there

Poundcake, IMO is the sort of person who is not satisfied with making up the numbers. He would have turned up injured, but still expecting to win. When it became clear that wasn't going to happen, he lost interest. I see no problem in that

I think poundstone is the Jay Cutler of Strongman, in the sport to develope an enterprise around himself. Theres nothing wrong with this, fair play to him if he can

Yes. I think Shaw could dominate for the next 5 years or so
He is still improving every year....I think he will nail the win 2011
Seems like a decent guy too

If he doesn't have a heart attack or anything, that guy is BIG

the sports not that simple
you change a few events about and anyone of the top guys hit their form right and the title is theirs
i feel anyone of about 6 guys can take the title
travis could have won that title if he had not got injured
pondcake is capable of winning against any of the top guys like him or not but his record is pretty awesome
terry was kicking ass all year before injury
and shaw can pretty much do it all
as i said change a couple of events about and title would change hands
for example
change farmers to arm over arm and the title would have been shaws
or had van hold in the final could have saw many places change
put a squat in the final and it could have seen shaw drop right out the running
or a shield carry would have mixed it up
big Z is my hero but trust me the top guys have never been closer

Talking about size... have you seem how much weight Travis has lost. He's almost sporting a six pack. It must of done him good to have come close to winning.
colin552423/09/10 @ 21:33
think travis eased up the training after having a little un, totally agree about the title being anybodys their are so many guys that could do it all dependant on hitting their peaks going into wsm, i also hear misha is heading back to olympic weightlifting

Agreed, think his Arnold record proves this.

Agreed, he's so consistent! Reminds me of our Terry a lot in stature and overall strength. If I had my way I'd have Terry & Shaw go head to head in every event... would be awesome... in my head at least.
granty23/09/10 @ 22:50
yeah, robcop and others thats right. Travis is looking awesome! physique wise he looks better than 2006 when he also looked prity lean.
