my advise to anyone thinking that TRT is a good excuse to stay 'on' for years and years to think again ! 50 years is ALONG time to be taking TRT just to have 5 years in the hench sunshine

I can understand staying on as you do feel unbreakable.

Do you perceive 5 years as the longest you should be on, or can be on safely?

5 years without coming off seems pretty not healthy!

I would be suprised if any bodybuilders ever come off. Honestly, I hear many stay on for years and if they decide to go off heavy use, then it is TRT for life.
AvatarBoar
oh , I just picked 5 years from what sam said , I have heard that 1 cycle can f**k you up and some guys can do 10 years and recover.

personally I think when you go past '2 x cycles' a year with proper PCT to '10 months on with a 2 month cruise' that's when the alarm bells start to ring.

Everyone competitive bodybuilder I've ever known (probably about 30), barr 1-2 used to come off pretty regularly, albeit for periods of only 6-weeks-ish.

I don't think they'd use any more juice than strongman either, at least not at a national level.

Sam, may I ask (if you remember) what bloods did you have and did the results come in a number factor or did you just get told you're below range. I am currently seeking tests for TRT due to health issues (not PED related) and although I have read up on the vast amount of info from the states I have found very little referring to the UK. So I would like to know exactly what to ask the Doc for seeing as the UK seems quite far behind on this matter.

Talking more on pro level. To be honest a couple guys I know never come off. They might come off certain products (heavy androgens) and go on more anabolic drugs.

I have no knowledge on strongman or powerlifting use as I don't know anybody that competes. In my gym it is all bodybuilders apart from me.

In my personal experience bbers use far more than strongmen at every level. Obviously there are exceptions but with strongman where there is a big focus on speed events and what not I don't think as much drugs are needed. Just imo.

The older I get the more I can see the appeal of self-prescribed TRT, as it were - back to the level of an eighteen-year-old, say. Obviously I'd need to do a lot of research, but if I stopped competing I could easily see myself going on at that level and never coming off. I have no personal experience whatsoever, but I've had plenty of interesting conversations. Retirement would be a lot more fun with an teenager's hormones, I suspect.

Hi Rick, if its not rude what age are you?
AvatarBoar
I wouldn't want to self prescribe purely as I wouldn't want to try and source the stuff a couple of times a year - sooner or later the well would run dry , and its illegal ...potential to get collar felt , even if its a small one......

When I got my blood tested at the docs , I never mentioned sauce ...I just didn't want it on my record ... because I wear a tinfoil hat and in 40 years medicine will be withheld from me due to me taking gear !

I must restate - its f**king ace being on and if a the NHS were to start giving all men over 50 TRT ..... well f**k me !! let the good times roll (when I turn 50)

Does it really feel that good?? Is your mood elevated with higher test? Reason I ask is, some people state a low mood can me a dip in testosterone.
