Haha I am at work and was earlier too so had to cut my post short but I was going to go on to say that drug free I found it impossible to lose bodyweight and gain strength.
This is the biggest bugbear for natural lifting and I have yet to see otherwise in 25 yrs of lifting !!! The problem with reaching your ultimate strength peak drugfree means you must increase your bodyweight to such extreme proportions to achieve anything significant i.e records, titles. I'm talking specifically about extreme lifting or dedicating your life to be the best possible lifter not just everyday gym lifting.

There is a naivety amongst new lifters and it's a kick in the balls when the truth comes out..

I have accepted that unless you are extremely talented then to be competitive you need to be on juice as there are just too many `genetic freaks' out there in open and local comps ie not national or above level that it's hard to believe anything different in my opinion as of recent.

Thanks again for being honest as I can't understand the silence surrounding ped use when there is feds which openly allow it

Naive, yes I think I have been from this thread but please tell me its not common. I think my lifts are not too bad for my age and the length of time I've been lifting but nothing special. Surly there must be many more drug free lifters that can shift a s**t load more than me?

And thanks Sam, are there others on the dark side who can add their thoughts?

God knows, so naive when it come to that I have no idea. Its interesting reading to hear first hand what people say. This is my current knowledge, from a dickhead where I used to train, and I quote 'you'll be fine, just eat a tin of tuna a day', I s**t you not! so its good to see honest/real input to the thread

I really can't remember my squat/bench numbers before going on but I've added 50kg to my deadlift.
I stay on year round. It's just the nature of the strongman season, no real time to have a break so the losing gains part isn't an issue for me.
Apart from some backne(which I had before using anyway) I've never had any sides. I'm in good health according to the Dr.
Gear basically just makes me feel awesome, that's why people take it.

Do you fear the day when you have to come off?

Not really. I came off for 4 months while I broke my foot and felt fine. I'm aware I'm really lucky compared to some when it comes to sides and what not though.

Top powerlifter told me he uses more anabolics with light androgens far out from comps.

As he nears a comp he replaces anabolics with heavy androgens. Halo, high dose test suspension, tren etc.

Never asked dosages but he says as a comp gets close, he really Ramps up the tren dosage with added orals.

Like Rick I am more than happy with the way the thread has gone.

To keep it that way, let's not talk specific drugs, doses or regimes.

And like others I'm impressed by sam and other's openness. Very refreshing.

If you are talking strongman, I think it's possible for a natural u90 and maybe u105 with no particular natural talent for it to be competitive. Competitive is somewhat subjective though so I guess our definitions may differ. But still, patience, perseverance and being clever about the way you train and compete goes a long way.

I concur, it is entirely possible to be reasonably competitive while remaining natural.

It becomes more difficult to do so if you are competing in the opens but certainly up here in Scotland it is still entirely possible. I will be doing my second open weight scotland's strongest man final in a couple of weeks (admittedly getting in as a reserve on both occasions) natural and at 105kg bodyweight. I will be happy to avoid last place and happy to just be competing but my training partner is also natural and has a shot at a top 5 finish if all goes well for him.

One thing I wonder about that hasn't been covered so far is the monetary aspect. Don't people grudge shelling out what I am led to believe is a fairly substantial amount of cash every month on gear? I know that I couldn't afford to and even if I could I would be able to find quite a few better ways to spend that money.

I hope this clarifies things / answers the questions people have asked properly, I'll do best I can without specifically mentioning dosages etc. I hope references to prescribed TRT are ok as I feel that is different.

I am 26. I was on for 5 years straight without a break. Tried coming off for knee surgery to lower my blood pressure or they wouldn't operate. Came off, lost 6 stone, had op done, had bloods done and had the testosterone levels equivalent to a prepubescent girl. Prescribed TRT straight away 1ml of sustanon 250 every 10 days. Told I was going to be on that for life and that I would be able to get hcg on prescription also if I ever wanted to have children.

Yep, I use a little more than my TRT dose before comps. I have competed twice since surgery. I can maintain a muscular 130kg on TRT. I compete at 135-140kg.

A 20 a day smoking habit costs a lot more.

The food bill is the one that gets you. No amount if drugs do anything without a ton of food to back them up.
