Cheers mate, it took a while to get nerve back to do it to be honest and broke myself back in with DC bodybuilding while cutting a ton of weight but BB just wasn't for me.

Loved my first session back on heavy low reps and doing a few events made me realise i wanted back in on strongman. Lifting the atlas stone took a good 20 minutes pacing around it mind! But it went up ok and fear just went. Intent now on making my best progress ever and really looking forward to seeing how i fair in either the under 90's or 105's next summer.

Lol! Cheers mate, it was more a feeling of just under performing really - setting standards too high probably! Got pb's though so shouldn't complain!

Pressing session

Blowing a bloody gale out there this morning, not helpfull but at least i got it in before the rain came!

Barbell clean and push press (1st rep clean)

Well going into these felt weak is hell and pretty tired but soon switched it on! The 102.5kg went straight up no problem but starting to feel very heavy lol! I think a week or 2 of lower weight for doubles is soon due but think i may try for 105kg next week, if i can keep locking PB's out i'll continue, when i stall out i'll increase some reps at a lower weight instead but if i can keep going up in weight i'll take that. Also on the plus side 95kg now feels very manageable - only a few weeks ago i was really struggling with this weight. 85kg x 5 is a big pb and feels real light now.

Pretty tired going into these and lacked conviction on the 82.5kg, it'll go next time. 75kg - my pb from just a few weeks ago was easily doubled twice. Feeling much stronger on these and lower back starting to not be a weakness anymore, very pleased. Onwards to strict bodyweight overhead press.

Light Bench

All below failure, will try to build at 2.5kg a week. Including them in my pressing workout now so fridays can be all about increasing my squat and a little extra tricep work.

No bicep training at the moment i'm re-habing what appears to be golfers elbow. Since serious re-hab started 3 days ago alot of the pain going - normally hurts like hell on cleans, felt nothing today so i'm very hopeful, would be nice to be pain free for a bit! So finished with 15 mins re-hab work with dumbells/band.

Great session, really feel my technique is improving especially on the pushies - remembering to drive through toes and exploding - makes a huge difference.

Week 6 Phillipi Deadlift Routine

De-load week 2

Deadlift 85% desired max

Easy week, nothing to report on these.

Speed Deads 70% desired max

Again easy week, good speed and tech, felt good.

Barbell Shrug 65% Current max (though not current after sundays pb!)

Strains bicep injury a bit but feel better on it than the power shrugs.

Stiff Legged Deads

Felt good, 200kg is there for 5 i'd say but thats for another day, will certainly be keeping these in, they feel very good. I reckon a 500lb stiff legged dead is there when fresh which is pretty nice considering that was my normal dead PB beginning of October.

Barbell Row

Got loads more there but hurts bicep loads, hopefully re-hab will see to that soon, improving daily. 120kg would be ok i think if healed.

Reverse Grip Pulldown

Again could use more but done sat on my power bench with a rolling barbell to hold me down! Could do more in a proper set up but it'll have to do. PB's felt easy anyway.

Arched back GM's are now being put in with squatting tomorrow.

Ab work - loads of standing rope crunches - 20+ sets, felt good, abs still on show - a little blurry though!

Good session, all on course still i think.

Going for squat PB tomorrow to set % for 10 week Phillipi routine i'm doing for them too, be interesting to see if the deadlift programme has brought them up at all.

180kg x 1 PB, moved fast
185kg x 1 PB, best rep of all.
190kg x F, failed out the hole.

Pleased with this, i did 175kg x 7 back in may BUT depth was questionable, these were nicely below parallel and i feel good reps, much deeper than the old days, glad i've addressed this issue now. 185kg pinned me 6 weeks ago so somethings working.
At this point i fed details into Phillipi calculator to set next 10 week squat cycle.
Current max 185kg, desired max 200kg, hoping for more! Back out to gym .....

Felt really good, triceps worked very hard, the dead stop at the bottoms a killer!

Ab work - 20 + sets of high to low reps to finish.

Great workout, squat up 10kg in 6 weeks, at good depth, with luck the following 10 weeks will see a good 20kg at least going on, feeling the most comfortable i've ever been under a squat bar so very hopefull.

75kg too light really but good to work on exploding up with lighter weight. I need a 100kg stone to practice with without tacky - 120kg won't go without - tried today. My stones and logging suck, really need to work on both. Not a bad session though, got the 90kg log up and technique is far better, finally remembering to keep elbows up i think.

Pressing Session

Very pleased, the 105kg was a tough lockout but flew out to lockout really fast, no doubt it was going up. Power clean was also very strong, best rep to date. I was considering a rep week next week but this gave me confidence so will attempt 107.5kg next week. Closing in on my February goal of 110kg early! Just need to transfer that to my axle then for Aprils comp. The 90kg felt really light to finish and beat my 3 rep pb by 2 easy strong reps.

Was meant just to do my easy below failure 102.5kg work sets that i'm building by 2.5kg a week but after 2 sets i was feeling good and decided to go for a PB and banged out an easy 125kg lift! Previous post accident PB was 120kg. All time best was 145kg which i can see me getting within the year, not that it really matters! Finished off with my 102.5kg sets - was meant to be 5 sets of them but banged a 6th out as i was feeling gooood!

Finished with re-hab work for my golfers elbow ( how the hell i got this as i only ever play crazy golf on holiday i don't know!).

Great session, really pleased with my overhead work and my goal of 120-130kg by comp is do-able i think/hope.
