MIA Member 7, 621 posts SQ 80, BP 45, DL 125250.0 kgs @ 55kgs UnEq | I'm aiming for: 1 Squat 85 kg 2 Massively improve deadlift form so everyone stops cringing when I pull heavy 3 Dead 135 kg 4 Massively improve bench form to keep the elbows in (guess this may also include getting much stronger tri's) 5 Bench 50 kg 6 Keep bodyweight at 53-55 kg 7 Thai boxing I would like to be at the point where I feel I can respond automatically in sparring 8 Push press my bodyweight (hard goal, very hard, but doable with good technique I think) 9 Stay serious injury (i.e. one that stops me training for more than a couple of days)and illness free 10 Leg press the stack

This doesn't sound terribly difficult. Maybe I'm just overestimating my endurance because I never do any running.

Yet i found i had difficulties in doing this last time i tried, i'm not used to this kind of 'long sprint', i usually run much shorter distances and want to do it at ease. You might want to give it a go, first laps are a walk in the park but maintaining the speed on the other hand.... Here's a link http://www.brianmac.demon.co.uk/gentest.htm

sold boar a shit car Member 27, 209 posts SQ 220, BP 170, DL 240630.0 kgs @ 119kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 19.12.2006 @ 19:12 PM I hadn't given this too much thought so far, but :Get bodyweight down to under 110kg. Increase fitness. Squat 250kg totally RAW, no belt or knee wraps, ass to heels. Bench 180 RAW. Deadlift 275 RAW. ( I don't doubt that it will take me all year to hit these lifts at my lighter bodyweight, but thats the point ! ) Continue to aggravate the Wildboar as much a possible. Finally, make a decision whether I'm staying with the "wife" or running away with the girlfriend Oh yes, at that weight I should comfortably be able to strict Overhead Press my bodyweight for 3 reps or more.

I am a bench-only guy Member 3, 10035 posts SQ 185, BP 175, DL 235595.0 kgs @ 140kgs UnEq Administrator | There is part of me that's reluctant to commit to any firm goals, because my training is not the biggest priority in my life and my biggest priority in my training is enjoying it. So the ones I am putting here are both relatively conservative, and to be viewed as intentions rather than commitments. Apart from the first two. Any of the others that conflict with those will be summarily abandoned. 1) Enjoy my training, and my life. This is not optional. 2) Be free of major injury, and in significantly less knee pain than currently (the cold weather and the period of inactivity have not helped). 3) Be less fat. Dan's 110kg target looks not unreasonable, but I'm not bothered about scales. "Be not fat" is really the goal here, but I'll settle for "not the fattest of the Sugden crew" for starters. I think that may be my big target for the year, to be honest. Though, of course, if pursuing it conflicts with goal 1, it won't be. Goal 1 is paramount. 4) Bench 140kg paused, at *least*. 5) Squat 400lbs. 6) Dead 220kg. 7) Get my wrists flexible enough to be able to catch power cleans 8) learn to power clean and push press somewhat properly 9) and take 100kg from floor to overhead. I'd be not unhappy with 80kg, to be honest. 10) Chin for sets of at least five, comfortably.

pink french superstar beard Member 26, 4030 posts SQ 190, BP 0, DL 205395.0 kgs @ 75kgs UnEq | Rick, i wouldnt know about your goals tbh and it is none of my business yet i find number 7,8,9 are more than doable. You're a 125kg guy who enjoys lifting weight therefore clean&jerking 80% of your bodyweight aint a problem. You'll piss on that in a couple of months if you want it. I'm saying this without knowing you but i know since you're a powerlifter that you've got legs and back so go for it. Wrist flexibility will come along. Cheers

I am a bench-only guy Member 3, 10035 posts SQ 185, BP 175, DL 235595.0 kgs @ 140kgs UnEq Administrator | It's worth remembering that I'm a crap powerlifter and a lot of that 125+kg is lard . Still, yes, I hope it's very doable. I'd really like to put bodyweight overhead within the next couple of years (when my bodyweight will hopefully be a bit less than currently).
