the events arent that light - 120kg farmers, 110kg log wont be easy.

Is that what's classed as "novice" these days? Wow, this sport moves on. What happened to the days of 85 logs and 90 farmer's?

venue is a bit bigger than my original choice so may be able to have a little tinker with the events.

yeah, its a partial squat for reps. the height itll be set at will be adjusted to the height of the competitor. say 20" ROM or something like that.

I think the yoke should be set at the same height for everyone Grin Grin Grin

I don't think a yoke exists that could allow me a 20" ROM!

Thanks, JC. Yes, big improvement. It was either 4 points (11th) or 5 points (10th). It wasn't fast, but it was solid - with no drops. I've been doing a bit of training with the most awkward/wobbly bas***d yoke imaginable, and the comp yoke felt very stable in comparison!

Any f**kin results ? how would my 300kg Yoke in 74.5 seconds have done ?

I think I scored 4 points (11th place) on yoke with a time of approx 29 seconds.

Great comp! Well run. Well done to everyone.

I was very very pleased with my performance. I didn't make any mistakes, and my brute strength surprised myself! I'm still too slow on the moving events though, resulting in a couple of low scores. My final placing was 10th (out of 14).

DEAD LIFT (220 for reps) - my target was 7, but it felt EASY and I managed 9!

FARMER'S (120 per hand) - completed the course with no drops, but in a slow time!

VIKING (120 on the equipment) - my target was 9, but I managed 11!

YOKE (300) - completed the course with no drops, in a slowish time. The best I've ever done on a yoke!

TYRE (330?) - I was dreading the cardio aspect of this, but I completed the required 12 flips, maintaining a decent pace.

STONES (100, 125, 140, 160) - managed 2 stones. The 3rd was a bas***d! It looked as big as the 160. I managed to lap it, but that's as far as it went. I didn't have much left in my legs/back.

The speed of some guys amazes me. That's what I need to work on. Not sure how!

What's a Savickas press? I've never noticed him having a unique pressing technique. Does it involve leaning back?

6 days to go!!!

I was going to train this morning (tyre flip and a few other bits and pieces), but decided instead that a total rest until the comp would be more beneficial, and give a couple of niggles a chance to sort themselves out. So, I should be nice and fresh on the day. Looking forward to it.

Just found out I'm in the intermediate class. Good.

I don't know yet whether or not I've been shifted downwards. If I have I'll drop out. My strongman journey needs to be progressive and taxing. I've said to myself I'm mot doing any more novice level comps.
