hammerman said:Couple of questions to help with my final preparations:

Is the log the skinny type or something bigger? and is 70kg it empty?

Is it the same tyre for both slim and fat competitive groups? Or do the slim guys have a smaller tyre as per original post?

What is the db like - Circus, single great lump or plates on it

Finally the sleeper - is it covered in oil and did it come from a sustainable source? Sorry got my environmental head on!

Thank you for your detailed queries.

The log is the big type, it is 70kg empty as far as a know.

We will be using the same tyre for both the skinny boys and the fat boys, it has been tested by some smaller individuals so it can be done.

The dumbell would be a normal dumbell, we are possibly changing it for something more exciting looking of a simlar weight. This will be tested before the day.

The sleeper easily handled, it is cut from the finest brazilian mahogony and will have a picture of the winners face carved into it where it will then be displayed in a victory parade through the centre of london alongside the olympic torch.

Apologies for any last minute changes to the equipment/ events. The whole comp has been put on at short notice and we are doing our best to make it a fun day for the athletes and the crowd.

Slight change guys nothing too major. We are kicking off at 1030am, NOT 11am as stated previously, so get there from 9am to warm up, play with the kit, sign the disclaimers etc

MrSmall said:any reason why its not u90 and over 90? there are a fair few other comps with those classes!
good luck with it

It has all been put on quite late notice so didn't really have the time/ kit for 3 classes (u90, u105, heavies), we wanted to have the day run quite quickly/smoothly.
And we figured setting the line at 95kg would give a few of the fatter 90kg lads a chance to do a comp without worrying about their weight.

As it goes we have loads of entries for the u95 class but could do with a few more overs, anyone under 95kg that fancies doing the heavier weights let me know...

Plate hold is a bit old school and not so entertaining. Tyre flipping or even DL for reps are much better options.
I am just a little bit excited about this comp
Grin

We have had a tyre delivered this weekend so we remain confident that tyre flip will be the one!

There has been a couple of individual competions added to the day to give spectators a chance to get involved.

The TTP Anabolic challenge sponsored by NRG Fuel is basically a crucifix hold for max time with a 3.6kg tub of TTP in each hand.

Bodyweight bench press for max reps!

Prizes will be available to win in all competitions..

Other activities now include sumo wrestling, face painting, and a bouncy castle!
