A big thanks to Paul, a smashing guy, comes across as very passionate about lifting, the sport would be lost with out people like him. Very well run, and spotters/loaders did a good job. Thanks again Paul :-)

Yeah, I may try this to make 90kgs a couple of hours before a session to simulate what I will do on the day. I wondered if there is a particular type or brand of potassium you use? If so what is it and what dosages do you use? Thanks for answering my many questions Wink

Thanks for the reply Macca. Ive basically got to lose the same amount of weight to make 90kgs in 2 weeks so may try some of the tricks you mentioned. You clearly seem to do well on this last minute weight loss; wether or not I will remains to be seen Happy

Yeah Im interested in hearing this too. It must be hard to cut weight with dehydration methods in the BDFPA because sometimes you can be on the platform an hour or 2 after weigh-in. The BPC guys are ok as they have 24 weigh in.

I would agree and say the squat and dead openers are conservative, but you have to do what you feel is right.

And if anyone here trains with Carl and has a dipping belt, then keep a good eye on it!!!

I would love to do the worlds but financial constraints stop me. However I think its a very good idea to have a comp near to this time for all the people who cant make the worlds. Me and my training partner are really looking forward to this one.

Impressive squats mate. Holds you in good stead for this comp.

It's all to do with the torque being completely different in ways that my none physics understanding little mind can't explain very well. Try doing a dumbbell swing followed by a KB swing with the same weight. The two feel very different mainly because the weight is further away from your body at the top of the kb swing and the kettle bell moves throughout whereas the dumbbell doesn’t.
I did say I couldn’t explain it very well didn’t I. The best thing to do would be to grab a hold of a compliant man’s bell and give it a good swing! Happy
Not magical, but everyone enjoys another 'tool in their arsenal'. (giggle).

Ah, that does shed some light on it for me now mate, thanks

Happy

Thing said:you still doing the boxing Phill?

Hi mate. No Im not boxing now, I had 2 fights called off, one of them the day before, which pissed me off a bit as I was so geared up for them. And the lifting bug sunk its teeth in to me again lol. I still do a bit off bagwork and skipping from time to time though, just to keep lean.
