Its hard to see the bar placement on your back so perhaps experiment with different placements eg lower down, higher up etc...

Your technique certainly needs some help!

My own thoughts are if you are struggling with bad technique then you shouldnt be doing low reps, or certainly not a weight so close to what your maximum is. I would ditch the knee wraps for the time being. With regards to your stance, try taking it out a bit wider. Your toes are pointing out which is good, but you have to make a real conscious effort to make your knees track over your toes, much easier done with a lighter weight. It may be you have weak abductor muscles, so try some exercises to strengthen these. Also squats should be part of a well rounded routine so make sure you are strengthening all the leg and core muscles with stiff legged deadlifts, front squats, weighted ab work etc... Also, keep your elbows tucked down when you squat as yours are pointing way back.

Im sure others can give you more pointers than this, just my own thoughts really. Good luck.

I feel for this guy because the ingredients on the tub say 1,3 dimethylamylamine which isnt on the wada prohibited list; methylhexanamine is. I really think wada should have all the different names used for this drug, otherwise how are people to know its banned? As far as Im aware, the wada list only lists this as prohibited in competition so in theory it can be used for training without fear of testing positive.

Thanks Carl lol Thats what I thought Weigieboard. I dont know what my bodyfat % is. I do think it is low for a powerlifter though. I am naturally ectomorphic ie long limbed and small joints. To get up to 100kgs I had to eat all the time and it felt unnatural being so heavy. But if going up in weight would help then I would do it.

Thanks mate. Is that the name of the brand or is it somewhere that sells different brands? If so what brand should I get?

Dont know if this is the right section?

Just wondered if joint pain could be caused from having a low body fat % and lifting heavy? I seem to get a lot more niggles and they are more persistent since I cut to 90kgs than when I lifted at 100kgs. This may be a coincidence. Would fattening myself up a bit lubricate the joints better/give extra padding?

I dont know if this sounds daft or not. I just wanted to get as many peoples opinions as possible.

Oh, I eat oily fish at least 3 times per week and take fish oils and glucosamine as well as a couple of teaspoons of olive oil per day in my shakes. So I think I have that side of things covered.

Hi Phil
If it helps I wont be lifting in the 100kg class, my knee is not 100% from when I hurt it in the world's and I've had two comps back to back now, so I'm taking time out.
Kick some ass for me Happy
Cheers
Steve

Thats a shame Steve. That was a very good total you done at the British. I remember you saying last year you had only been lifting 1 year?

And thanks Paul, I will contact Nicky or Neil.

Can I go 100kgs Paul, as I qualified in the 90 class? Or what if I enter at the 90kg class and weigh over, can I still compete in the 100kg class? Im just undecided what to do, I like to eat a lot!
