The shoulder didn't weep as much as usual tonight which is no bad thing and the walkouts weren't what they should be but that aside this really wasn't too bad tonight.

The real bonus was that Turner never showed so I was spared that trauma. Hope he's alright, but if I had to guess it would be that he just couldn't get a lift so just didn't bother.

I believe that he has. I have a memory of seeing footage many years ago, although I may have finally lost the plot completely.

He has indeed. I can recall one instance but there probably were a few more before I arrived on the Adlington scene

Your belief is correct, your memory is reliable. Plot is not lost

A virtually instant two. Usual opener and it fell straight into my lap.

Thank you kind sir, that’s a relief. The demise into madness is staved off for one more day.

Exactly the same for me if you change the four to a five and the three to a four. Some scribbling needed

XGXXY
XXXXX
XYYXX
YGYYY

I will gently point out that at school I would have been very soundly thrashed for writing "four" as a word but "three" as a numeral. That says more about my school than it does about anything else. But to my untrained eye it does look rather odd, although I would never go so far as to call it wrong.

I have no idea why I wrote it that way. I was told by someone I used to work with, who had previously worked as a proof reader, that you should write numbers 0-9 as words but 10 and above as numbers. I don't know how true that is or if she just made it up

I've heard the same.

For me, it depends on what the writer is trying to convey. Numerals stand out better within text.

Regarding having numbers written as words and numerals within the same piece of text, I would argue that there could be justification for this if the numbers are conveying different things and this distinction makes matters clearer.
