The only obvious omission would seem to be deadlifts. Maybe they could be added in on one of the days you are training already?
AvatarPete
You're right. There's no reason why I don't train them after the push presses.

Good man!

Can see why women nag all the time now - sometimes it just works! Grin

Yeah, this upcoming season is "now or never". I'm not talking about wins or podium finishes but if I don't get some solid finishes I may as well hang up the neoprene forever.

Thanks for the nagging.Happy

Bit of a halt to my progress over the last few weeks. First came the man flu which I already mentioned and now I seem to have a lower back injury. I've had a couple of aborted sessions over the last week that aren't worth recording. I might give it a week to recover and then do some high rep stuff to let it heal.

I keep getting big spasms here and there but that's combined with an almost permanent small spasm. Seems to be around the sacral region of my spine which is a bit of a new one for me.Unhappy

Back felt OK today.

Push Press

bar X lots
60kg X 5
60kg X 5
80kg X 6
80kg X 6
80kg X 6
80kg X 6
80kg X 6

Felt very easy apart from the final set.

Wednesday 14th October

Push Press

bar X lots
60kg X 5
80kg X 8
80kg X 8
80kg X 8
80kg X 8

Very comfortable! There's much more there.

Speed Deadlifts

100kg X 5
140kg X 5
160kg X 5
160kg X 5
160kg X 5

I thought they were all VERY fast by my standards.

Sandbag Squats

Shouldered an 80kg sandbag and did a few full squats but it proved to be much harder than I had expected. It gives me something else to work on though.
Happy

In summary, I'm pretty happy with my progress.

Solid progress there Pete!
AvatarWILLSAN
looking good pete, keep it up mate!

Cheers Millsy.

How's Rory? I hope that you have enough energy left for your training.

Cheers Will. At this rate I might gain enough strength to enter St. Ives' Strongest Man next year.

Thursday 22nd October

Push Press

bar X lots
60kg X 5
80kg X 2
90kg X 4 f5
90kg X 4 f5
90kg X 3 f4
90kg X 3 f4
90kg X 3

Some reps were great but I missed too many.

Deadlifts

100kg X 5
140kg X 3
170kg X 5
170kg X 5
170kg X 5
170kg X 5
170kg X 5

I don't know whether I would call them speed deadlifts but they were certainly snappy.

Sandbag work

Shouldered my 80kg sandbag a few times.

He's fine, thanks. Can't stop looking at the little fella (or Rory!).

I'm taking your old approach to training at the minute. Grin

I've had another bout of man flu which has stopped me from training all week. I thought that I had to force a session in this morning but I shouldn't have bothered.

Sat 31st October

Push Press

Warmups - weak as piss
80kg X 8 - a few weeks ago I could have had 12-13 reps with this weight but the last rep was, shamefully, a grinder
80kg X 5 - my whole body felt weak as piss so I abandoned the set and the session.
