The top 5 was
1st Leggiez
2nd nick foxall
3rd me
4th John pollock
5th Dhanni Moar

What a great day in Dumbarton! Sun shining all day and a very close run comp. I only decided at 10:30 this morning to compete, so pretty happy with my performance. Congrats to Leggiez on the win. He looked strong all day. Also to all the other lads fighting for positions. It all came down to the last event the silver dollar deadlift. I think any 1 of the top 5 were still in a position to win it.
Thanks to Andy for running the comp. it was a long day, but Andy's MC skills and with the help of stuart, ken and all the crew kept the day running smoothly.

I do apologise stuart, I obviously got the placings wrong, I must have got too much sun today. Well done on the podium finish bud.

I'm just waiting on my vid to upload, didn't get anyone elses unfortunately, think Scotty got all of Stuart Yule's events.

Big thank you to Andy, Stuart, Ken, Darren and all the rest of the crew who helped with the running of the comp. It was a great day and the weather couldn't have been better. Everyone performed well and the standard was extremely high. I'm sure that all the guys who qualified will do well at Britains and Leggiez will do some damage at Europes. He was awesome all day and doesn't really have any weaknesses anymore and to make it all the better is a thoroughly nice chap.

(nick posting)

Hi guys , very long day and good comp. well done to the new champ mark, extremely consistent and deserved the title. I did what I knew would happen, good on the gym lifts but let down by lack of fitness and experience on the actual strongman stuff. going to train differently in the run up to the next comp and try become more of a 'strongman' .

Thanks to andy, crew, and the crowd for being supportive all day.

cheers, Nick

Amazing competition, great to see so many active u105s in Scotland.Really happy to win the title , after a shaky 1st event everything fell into place and i placed high in all the other 5 events , whilst all my main rivals seemed to have 1-2 blips.

Some crazy feats of strength as well, Nick with the 78kg dumbell and the 390kg silver dollar , and Benvie , John Pollock , Stuart Yule and junior walking 405kg yoke was crazy after 2.5 hours of incrementally loaded yoke.I had to go up last on that event and i was cursing like hell because JP had went so far ! I was out on my feet trying to reach his mark and had to be assisted back to the tent by Andy Cairney's brother Roll-Eyes Young Leon has to get a mention for his swandive with the 120kg farmers , very impressive Happy

Stuart Yule did admirably considering hes been competing at the u90kgs this year and came in 10kg underweight , again he was so consistent throughout and was right up there come the end of the day.
Nick was just so strong looking on all the static events , he is going to be untouchable once he focuses on his event training more.
John Pollock had 2 bad events which hurt him bigtime , but what a determined man he is !

A huge thankyou to Andy , Ken , Stuart , Darrol and all the others who worked feverishly in the background to make this competition the success that it was , and i look forward to next years (if my back is still in 1 piece!)

Easily the longest and most brutal comp I've done so far in my short strongman career but really enjoyed it. The weather was awesome with some very red faces in the crowd, (and AndyGrin). Some really good events, conans, silver dollar deadlift especially, well run and great MCing from Andy Cairney. Great to see so much support both from crowds and athletes all day, it was a pleasure to compete.
Thanks also to Stuart Murray, Big Ken Novicki, Heavy D and all the loaders.
A special congrats to Leggiez, a hard worker and thoroughly decent chap. who will do well at BSM and Euro's.

Here my vid. Cheers to Scott Alexander for filming.
The yoke weights are slightly off from Scott's tagging, the last one was 405 and 385 was the last one I completed....405 was a spine crusher, felt my upper back after first pick up and with a few events to go and a comp next week I didn't fancy another attempt!
