Fantastic row, half marathon distances are no joke and 1:48 pace is ridiculous. My heart rate is regularly in the low 50s now, which is a big improvement. I think I'll fall apart if I do too many sessions like this though. I don't really get any soreness from the 30s I do, but this has half-crippled me JT said:Freakinstein. 42,195 is calling you. today you say no give it a week give it 2 you will be in the FM crew Oh, no no no. Really, genuinely no desire to go past this. It was the team challenge for Team Oarsome (I got invited to join pretty much as soon as I joined the C2 forum) this month, so felt obliged to try. I definitely wasn't prepared for it though, having only exceeded 10k once before this. I'm perfectly happy with my middle distance dominance here on Sugden - I'll leave you and Macroth to the silly distances

the Ergbreaker Member 19, 858 posts SQ 190, BP 140, DL 260590.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq | Much too tired and sore to train today, but totted up my total so far this month and it's 162,768m so far. Definitely a step up in volume from last month.

One was the gardener on the estate where we lived near Edinburgh. He's 6ft 9", his wife is 6ft 6" and their son (who I think must be 14 or so now) was predicted to grow to 7ft. And then I remember bumping into a 6ft 9" rugby player in a pub in Derby when I was about 18. Since moving to Devon 2.5 years ago, I've only met people to 6ft 6". I'm apparently 1 in 20,000 tall, but that does depend where you are in the country I feel. People tend to be quite short in both Scotland and Devon.

the Ergbreaker Member 19, 858 posts SQ 190, BP 140, DL 260590.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq | Long, slow row today. I guess what you'd call a UT3. Boring, but necessary. I'm still feeling the HM. The picture is a little dark, so to summarise: 40:00.0 10021m 1:59.7/500m 17SPM 132BPM https://i.ibb.co/wdZdhzc/IMG-20210129-223344.jpg

the Ergbreaker Member 19, 858 posts SQ 190, BP 140, DL 260590.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq | Bit of a 'meh' session today. Heartrate wouldn't play ball and R22 is too fast for a 145bpm row. I'll leave the r22 work to heart rate caps of 160 or above. Anyway, it's some metres. 1m less than last time but at 2bpm higher. The high HR at the end was as a result of a little sprint in the last 20 seconds to get the metres up a touch. https://i.ibb.co/S3PN31m/IMG-20210130-221858.jpg

the Ergbreaker Member 19, 858 posts SQ 190, BP 140, DL 260590.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq | My odd "left side of my arse crack, sort of my glute but not" ache returned today, aggravated by yesterdays row. It's where the muscle attaches to the sacrum, but very limited to that area. I need to ask my osteo about it, but I'm not sure that our relationship is ready for him inspecting my backside. Either way, it's not serious, it's been there (off and on) for a couple of months and it's sore when I flex my hips. So I took a day off rowing. Did my first run for 15 years this evening. Only 2.5km, but when you've not run for that long, it's remarkable what starts to ache. Not cardiovascularly challenging, but my calfs were really goosed by it. The dog was delighted, as she much prefers a run to a row on the erg Run: 2.5km. 13:45. 175.5kcal. 11.15 km/h average.

the Ergbreaker Member 19, 858 posts SQ 190, BP 140, DL 260590.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq | No rowing today or yesterday. My lower leg DOMS from the running are truly biblical. Pretty much the worst DOMS I've ever had. I'm OK walking once I've been moving for a few minutes, but incredibly stiff initially. I guess that's what you get when you don't run for 15 years

I'll try to work up to 3 short runs a week (in addition to the rowing) as I think it'll help with my forestry walking at work).

the Ergbreaker Member 19, 858 posts SQ 190, BP 140, DL 260590.0 kgs @ 128kgs UnEq | Bit of gentle rowing today. Legs are still pretty goosed from the running, but improving. Heart rate was a bit high today, which I suspect is due to a couple of reasonably stressful days at work and not much sleep. Glute soreness is still there a bit, but reduced my back involvement on the stroke to minimise the aggravation. That might go some way to explain the elevated heart rate. https://i.ibb.co/dWqs92X/IMG-20210203-194134.jpg
