Decided to start a new journal to go with this period of training. I've just finished my fourth comp in seven weeks on Saturday so it's time to start the build up to my next comp at the end of July. There may be a situation where I won't be able to do the comp and if that's the case then I'll just do the All England in August as my qualifier for the classic. I need a 467.5kg total to qualify and seeing as I hit 567.5kg at my last comp it should be a walk in the park. To help along the way I have enlisted the help of Tom Martin. After the classic I want to give myself the best possible chance of qualifying for the British U23 weightlifting in which I need a 260 total which I believe I can achieve. Anyway, here is today's session:

Squats felt fine today and form stayed tight throughout. Bench was also good today although it was a bit weird having to bench with a weightlifting bar.

Everything felt good technically which is nice. Did manage to leave my chocolate milk at home though so was feeling hungry by the end of the session lol.

Everything felt good today. Only my second time using knee sleeves since October and noticed the difference straight away. I will be purchasing some SBD's at the weekend.

Squats were ok today. Working sets were a little slow but then again both were technically pb's for high bar. The new SBD's didn't make as much of a difference as I thought they might seeing as they cost me twelve times as much as my last pair of knee sleeves and I went for the 'tight fit'. Bench press was right on the limit today. I want to blame that fact that I had to use a weightlifting bar but it probably didn't make much difference at all.

The 195 today felt a little better than Mondays 190. The sets on 157.5 felt the same. Double on 122.5 was solid if not spectacular. Sets on 105 were a little better than Monday. 120 reps felt quicker than Monday. Big session in the gym was followed by a big session in McDonald's.

Today's 192.5 squat was the best squat I've done in the 190's since my comp. Sets on 162.5 were a little harder than the sets on 157.5 but that's to be expected. 127.5 was the best heavy bench press I've done since the comp. The 5's on 110 were also good. Deads were feeling nice. Looks the extra days rest led to today's good session. Hopefully more to come.

Cheers mate! Actually structured this time.

In completely unrelated news, I received the results of my drugs test at my last comp: NEGATIVE, which is as it should be. I have also sent off my forms for the Greater London clubs comp and All England where hopefully I can hit 600.
